I thought the Right Wing was going to attempt another dog fight with Wayne! Then I opened the link, needless to say I was disappointed!
The Blue Angels rock!! I'll be there if at all possible. Plus, there's nothing like watching the F-15E Strike Eagle Demo Team show off for the home crowd.
DH is going to try to get off on Saturday so we can go. I have not been to an air show since I separated from my ex. Wish Kyle was here so he could go too, but... I know DD will love it. Hoping he can get off.
We're going on Sunday. If you don't mind driving a little further, the Pickle Festival in Mt Olive is also going on the same weekend.
And firepower to match. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJSk2Xc3Eq4&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sALiuWg_I1k&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKRGDCR28g0&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l9qZCAVE9k&feature=related
good line up... you open the first one with the music and open the others while the music is playing it matches together well.
I wanna go sooooo bad, it's disgusting. I've worked on some of the planes that'll be there and I love the Blue Angles. I hope I can go. Mike
Yea!!!! Hubby got off that Saturday so we can go! :hurray::hurray::hurray::hurray: I so HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure if they'll do it this year, but they had the F-22 Raptor demo last year and if you've never seen a fighter with thrust vectoring, its a sight to behold. Of course, as a side note and sad news for aircraft lovers, it looks like the F-22 program is getting its wings clipped. The DoD doesn't apparently think the F-22 is worth the money being spent on it, so it looks like a short purchase order for the Raptor. Of course, the F-35 Lightning II is still a great aircraft, but I don't think its a good idea to invest so heavily into one aircraft for the future...especially a single engine. They should at least crank up F-15 production again, but I think its not a good idea to kill the Raptor. The Air Force needs these air superiority fighters. Oh, and I'm not sure if the Slocomb Street gate will be open to the public, but if it is, its a better choice to enter through. Another option to carry you throught the main gate if its open: Turn right onto Spence Avenue from Hwy. 70. Keep straight until you reach Elm Street, turn left onto Elm Street. Go to Berkeley Blvd. to the light which is right at the main entrance. The light will catch the masses coming down Berkeley and you can "jump ahead" of the pack so to speak. In 2007 (no show in '08), you had to go out toward Goldsboro Chevrolet and turn at the light.
Mom and dad are getting a front row seat! They are headed down to the beach and have seen them practcing.
I'm glad y'all bumped this... I thought it was only Sat and I was going to try and squeeze the Strawberry fest and this in one day and hubby was leary. Sweet...we're going to try to go Sunday.:hurray: I haven't been since I was maybe 8 yo. I'm so excited!
