They are fantastic, I went to a Christmas party there and the food was out of this world. I have also heard good things from folks who have had meetings there as well
Haven't been there for a meeting type set-up, but went there for dinner back in the fall and the food was great! The PitMaster and owner, Ed Mitchell has been featured on The Food Network and the Travel Channel twice that I know of in the past few months. Once for a Man vs. Food, and then he did a "Throwdown with Bobby Flay" that will air in May.
thanks y'all, just put a call in and waiting on a callback to reserve the room in May - you guys all rock:hurray:
Did you go Fri night? We were there about 7-7:30ish, sat in the bar area. We loved it! I recommended the BBQ and Pimento cheese fries appetizer - sounds wierd, but it was delish!! We also had the brisket and chopped bbq, everything was very good! Great place, we will be back.
we did go Friday night! we were there at that time too! we were not in the bar area....we had a table. Oh my gosh.....so, so good. I had the ribs and chopped BBQ w/ mac and cheese....I tasted the brisket off another's plate....out of this world.....the banana pudding....just like my granny used to make.....loved the atmosphere! I was like where else can you eat BBQ and drink Chardonnay??? we took a pic with Ed, the Pitmaster...and he brought our dessert to the table...I will post the pic on FB....we most definitely will be back too!
LOL! I know - I really wasn't expecting it to be such a nice place! We talked to Ed too, - I guess you heard they're going to be on foodnetwork in May with Bobby Flay - for a 'rib throw-down'!!
yes! on the rib throwdown.....I love it! I tell ya, I absolutely love ribs and try them anywhere we go....hands down, The Pit has the best I have eaten. And that molasses based sauce he makes to put on them.....have mercy!
We want to try this place at lunch this week. Any hints on where to park? Should we go for paid parking to be safe?
and there is free parking right across the street too, in front of the Depot. It's at the end of a dead end, so its actually not the usual downtown parking nightmare.
Is this the same Ed Mitchell that was in Wilson at Michell's bar-b-que that got into trouble for I think tax evasion? The picture on his website looks like it's the same guy.
