I received the following message from the e-mail address of a person I know and have communicated with by e-mail:
This is followed by her name and an address in London to send the money to. Needless to say, my friend did not send this message, and she is not in London. Someone has hacked into her account and is apparently sending this to everyone in her address book. So if you get a distress message from a friend or relative, verify before sending money!

Don't you have to give a name for a Western Union transfer, and doesn't the recipient have to show ID and have the answer to a security question?

If they could hack into her e-mail account, I guess they wouldn't have any problem making fake IDs.

That's kinda scary. I hope nobody falls for this. It's so sad that people would pray on honest folk like this.
