Our U12 GCAA Sporpions soccer team has been invited to soccer camp in New York this summer free of charge!!! All we have to do is get there.

So, we are in desperate need of fundraising ideas to get our kids there. It's a great opportunity for them.

    Any ideas?

We are also taking donations made out to GCAA Scorpions :)

How about hosting a silent auction. I'm a committee member and involved in several charities and this has been a great year for silent auctions because of the economy. Less people are purchasing tickets to events, so it's easier to get tickets donated directly. You can contact many of the local sports venues, as well as theater and other entertainment enterprises. You can then get parents to donate additional items, and even get the kids to donate some items that, altough may not bring in big offers, will fill the tables and enable more people to get involved.

ETA: Now would also be a fantastic time to do a car wash. I know that I've been saying for days that I need to get my car washed to get the pollen off, and if I saw a bunch of kids on the side of the roads or saw signs for a fundraising car wash, I'd be all over it, and then send my husband.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. We actually doing a car wash in a couple of weeks. We are finishing up our season this weekend.

Heck I should get out there myself with my son and wash cars tomorrow, since the Strawberry Festival is going on!!!

Or either go around with a hat and beg for money!!! ha/ha
