This morning I saw Will Crocker and Senator Rouzer. It was neat to see politicians from our community coming out to support and enjoy the event.
I hope some of you caught our little Karate Demo,:boxing: the stage was too hot, so we did it on the grass, the 4-6 year olds were just too cute. 7-12's were just great, Eric did a wonderful job, as did the Adults, we had a busy day at our booth as well!! it was fun the whole day, If you checked out the car show, you may have seen my red 85 porsche, the only foreign car there. We of course had to go to the Club House after the booth closed, awesome food as usual. B Red
I want to give a huge Thank You to all the volunteers who came out to help at the Johnston County Republican Party booth. I wasn't able to get there until about 2:30pm. We had lots of new first time volunteers and it seems they all had a wonderful time donating their Saturday. Thank you to all the local politicians who stopped by the booth. I was able to see Commissioner Cookie Pope and Senator David Rouzer while I was there. The volunteers handed out many voter registration forms to folks who've recently moved into the Cleveland area of Johnston County from other counties and states.
BBQ Ribs The vendor that was selling the BBQ Ribs was JP's. They are from Four Oaks, NC just openned a new resturant in Four Oaks, best ribs outside of the 4042 area. The Strawberry Festival had a big crowd this year and it was HOT! Loved the new lay out, I think this year was the best one ever!

The Johnston County Republican Party has had them cater for events in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
had a great time but since we got there after 1pm missed seeing alot of my fellow 4042ers. As soon as we got there little man was starving so we hit the Clubhouse first and it was packed but the food as always was great. The only disappointment was the bungie jump was not there, it was always little man's favorite ride.
My only complaint was that there were hardly any arts & crafts there. There were mostly businesses & churches using the booths for advertising. One of the jewelry booths told me that she had to pay $125 to exhibit for the day. That's pretty steep for a one day festival. At that price I can't believe there were any crafts people there. Hey Cleveland Chamber......consider lowing the price for the arts next year!
Kaci - I must have been there around the same time, think we left the clubhouse around 1:00 (not sure exactly what time it was, but pretty close) It was packed! The 5 of us were crammed into the booth in the back, food was great, staff stayed very busy!
I thought that was you DMJ I hate I didnt speak I def got that tan, my shoulders were fried! But I met some great people from the board and the community! I really missed the 4042 booth as well! I always enjoy the strawberry festival!
We went out to the Strawberry Festival and my little one had a ball! A big "Thank You" goes out the Chamber for the best ever Strawberry Festival. We really enjoyed the new Inflatable’s group (Orringer Lamm Events). They did an awesome job!
It's like this every year now - which is why I don't bother going anymore unless I am in need of pens, little pads of paper, koozies, etc.
Eric enjoyed it immensely. He said he is volunteering for everything from now on. Just need him to fall, not be afraid of the dirt. He can be one with the dirt. The little ones were adorable, and a big hand to the adults. We got it all on film.
Actually I saw 2 booths, the larger one (Porter's I think???) and then there was a smaller booth set up closer down toward the Clubhouse restaurant, maybe that early freeze a couple weeks had some effect on local growers
When I was at Porters they said they were only selling Quarts, even though they had buckets, because of the weather.
