I need to find out if there is someone that does makeup or a place where I can get my neices done for her Prom on Saturday. My makeup is to dark for her skin tone or I would do it for her. She isn't good at it and I don't want her to do it herself. I thought about calling belks in Garner, but don't you have to pay them?

I always had Clinique do my make up for proms/formals and never had to pay. Even had them do my make up for bridal portraits and wedding day and didn't have to pay. BUT, I usually would buy the color of lipstick so I'd have it to touch up throughout the event and then I didn't feel guilty for not paying them:lol: Plus, I usually liked the color and would continue to wear it so it was a win-win. Things could have of course changed now but I really don't think Clinique charges even still. I know Clinique's lip colors run about $15. I thought it was a great deal but that could just be me:)

Yep I always had appointments. I am really particular with makeup as I don't like it caked on so I also made consultation appointments beforehand to test things out. THey would write down colors and products we decided on and then when I went the day of the event everything was already picked out and they just had to apply it. As long as you don't pick "peak" business times they've always accomodated me.

For proms/formals I never cared whether the same person applied it, but for my wedding and portraits, I made sure I had appointments set with the same associate, she was that good. On my wedding day, she actually met me at the store before they opened at 8am to do my makeup and sent me away with all kinds of samples of the products so I could "touch up" before the wedding later that day without having to buy everything. I can not tell you how many compliments I got about my make up that day! I ended up going back to the associate to buy all the colors I liked it so much.

PS- I just noticed you said her prom is this saturday....definitely start calling around. Where I grew up, all the girls used the makeup counters at the malls and I usually had an appt set waaay in advance. Girls are so into makeup these days now though that it could be different-plus I don't know how big proms are here since I don't have children. Good luck and hope you have fun. Your neice is lucky to have an aunt like you to help her out and do the "girl stuff" like this!

I got a appt at Belks and you have to at least buy two items, no biggy.
It's going to be fun..hehe..she doesn't even know yet.
My DD is 8 and she is not girly, so it's nice to be able to do girly things with my neice.
If I can just get her to wax her eye brows. It took me forever two years ago to get her to get her ears pierce. She can't take pain lol.

Speaking of makeup. Yesterday I had a job interview - my hair was done and I had make up on. I come home and mow the lawn, I was thinking I wonder how many people look all done up while mowing. LOL

    Not many lol,
I only wear it to work..I don't mess with it as much as I got older and I'm not man hunting either..so it doesn't matter to me.

I am not really a girly girl. Grew up as a tom boy and I have 2 boys so I don't wear it either.
