OMG...Hubby and I actually had to pull our toilet this weekend and had it on our back lawn in the heat...hadn't been flushing right for 2 weeks, couldn't figure out what was wrong, tried everything! What was wrong? A fricking toy motorcycle in it!! Darn kid...You would not even want to know or imagine the things we had to do to get that thing out! We weren't about to buy a new toilet, which would have been the easiest thing to do, so after hours (literally) in the heat, and a very stinky back lawn, we got it out, but it wasn't easy!

Moral of the story? You don't need a professional, but you need a lot of willpower, imagination, and a whole lot of privacy! :ack:

Just returned from Kaci's house. Her tub should be all set. The original plumber who installed this tub for some reason did not line up the overflow drain and it was too high. He compensated for this by trying to seal the drain with silicone. :ack: I adjusted it as best as I could seeing it is inside a wall and the only way to really repair this would be to cut the wall open and cut back the drain pipe and reattach it to the tub properly. I sealed it, realigned it up as best as possible and filled the tub, and had her husband stand below the tub while I splashed the water around. There were no visible signs of leakage at that point so it is what it is. I did the best I could with it seeing I never did the original plumbing at the house, the only real way as I said to iron clad repair this is to cut a hole into the side of the house (the plumbing is on an outside wall) and cut back the drain and reattach. This option was not available to me at this point.

yeah whatever, funny thing is that in 7 years we had never had a problem and the plumbing was inspected and passed when the house was built new and reinspected a year later. i do not appreciate my husband being cried to that poor Tom, Kaci lost him his business by posting on the board and to not post again about you. Look Tom, you may be a great appliance installer but do not advertise yourself as a plumber, you told me yourself you had to call someone else to tell you how to fix what you supposedly fixed when in reality never needed fixing to begin with. i should have known better when someone who says they are a plumber comes into the house and has to use my husband's tools to do the work. i have tried and tried to be nice about this but you are crossing the line with your posts that are blatant lies. Thank you, i did learn my lesson, from now on i will only use real licensed plumbers that know what they are doing. Oh and by the way, when you were insisting over those 3 days that everything in the tubs had to be replaced because it had to be causing the leaks and my husband was asking why because if it was the tub leaking, it would have been coming through the ceiling (kinda like it was doing after you replaced all the guts in the tub and insisted on being paid in cash) a real plumber would have seen where the leak was coming from on the get go and pulled the rest of the sheet rock down, again like my husband said you should do, and found the little pin hole that caused the original problem. i know, i know, everyone is going to slam me cause poor Tom has had such a rough year and i am right there with ya, i felt sorry for him too and went against my better judgement and used a professed plumber instead of the real thing. i could go on and on rebutting each and everyone of his posts on this thread but it would be a waste of time, just trust me, anyone out there that has any kind of a plumbing problem, learn from my mistakes and call a real licensed plumber.

I'm sorry this all went down. Don't feel bad for telling your side of the story. That's an important part. I don't think you'll have to rebutt either since he's asked to have his account deleted.

That was a low blow, I did not post this in response to your post. I have my own reasons as to why I am requesting to take myself off of this board and as I stated in the other post, these is NO reason to start attacking each other. I did show up at your home tonight and did the best I could to fix a problem which was originally caused by the builder of that house. I even showed your husband how the pipes behind the tub were lined up. I do not want to start any wars with anyone. Please if you are unhappy with me call me or P.M me. I do not know how much longer I'll have an active account out here but I have done my best to try to fix the problem. I was not nor am I now attacking you. I do not do that and I will not start to.

Oh gotcha, not gonna attack me on the board, just to my husband who, bless his heart, was more ****ed about the whole thing than i was, but keeps everything inside instead of lashing out, yeah we are kinda opposite in that way.
