Traffic at 40/42

  1. What's going on up at the intersection today? I saw where a lane was closed. I turned around and headed down Hwy 50. I was at the Food Lion this morning around 10:30 and noticed the traffic was backed up all the way to Old Drug Store Road. Glad I don't have to be over there at rush hour tonight!

UGH, not looking forward to driving home tonight then...I think I might take the 210 exit! :)

No, it's gone now. Just got home an hour ago. It was pretty bad this late morning and early afternoon. One lane was closed so the construction can put a new road near new Walmart's entrance.

  7. Speaking of Wal-mart, does anyone know when it's scheduled to open? I will be so glad. It takes me 20 minutes to get to the Clayton Wal-mart and 20 minutes to the Fuquay Wal-mart!

I saw a near miss tonight on my way through there. Some dumb butt cut a U-turn right in front of the Audi 2 car length in front of me, at the light in front of the Cracker Barrel. I'm pretty darn sure you are supposed to YIELD to oncoming traffic when doing a U-turn. The Audi did a good job avoiding them. Dude in the Toyota pick-up is darn lucky! Idiot.

crazy as traffic is up there it will take you 20 mins to exit the parking lot.

I am looking forward to the bottlenecks on the road just passing by, myself. They added lanes in the direct vicinity of the store, then it goes back down to a two-lane highway. I usally take Cornwallis to get to 42, esp if I am going to Lowe's. Now there is no escape from traffic for me.

Well, I am just about done dropping coin at Lowe's anyways. Then I can go back to skipping the clusterf altogether by going to 210 to get my FL fix.

The person who set up the stoplight for turning onto that road that goes by Mcd's (coming from CVS direction) is a total MORON. You have to take your own life in your hands just to make a left hand turn.

I don't even try. I take the Commerce parkway (back road by the old car wash, Mike's Cleaner's) and go straight thru to FL.

If they gave you a decent amount of time to turn left, it would cause the traffic on I-40 to back up even worse than it does. What they should do is move that light down to Technology, by the Dairy Queen.
