Hey guys, as a lot of you know, there are several 4042 regulars who have joined Pirategirl's Relay for Life team, Lucille's Kids. As a lot of you also know, we are really late getting into the game this our first year and we need some help please. If you have ever been touched in any way by that demon cancer, then please look into your heart and consider helping in any way you can. First, we are having a bakesale next Saturday, the 16th in front of Headquarter's Salon (thanks so much Headquarters) beside the Lowe's Foods on the corner of 50 and 42 between the hours of 10am and 2pm and we could really use some donations of baked goods to sell or even if you would be willing to stop by and purchase some of our baked goods that would be awesome too. Second, we are having a fundraiser whereas for a small fee you pick an envelope with a gift certificate in it at the Relay for Life on the 29th and 30th. So far, CDH, Clubhouse, and T's Tanning have been very generous in donating gift certificates for this and between now and then i will be hitting up as many businesses as i can to pull more. If you have or know someone that has a business that would be willing to donate a gift certificate, that would help a lot. Third, for the actual event on the 29th and 30th, we will be having another bake sale, a cake walk, selling breakfast country ham and pork biscuits, have games for kids, selling punch and of course selling coffee since it is an allnighter for those on the teams. There are a lot of things we would be very grateful for: cakes for the cakewalk baked goods to sell Ginger Ale Hawaiin Punch prizes for the kids canned pineapples/cherries coffee creamer sugar spenda coffee cups plastic cups napkins/paper plates Fourth, luminaries can be purchased up to before the date of the Relay for Life if you have someone you want to remember or a survivor you want to honor, or a fighter you want to support. Also if you would prefer to make a cash or check donation, Pirategirl does have a paypal account, just pm her and she will be glad to give the details. Remember, every single penny raised by our team is going to the fight against Cancer and anything anyone can do, no matter how small is a step even closer to helping find a cure. Thanks to Kaci for posting this info! At the last RELAY meeting Kaci and I attended, it was unreal how many hands went up for people who have a loved one who has/had cancer...It was even more surreal the hands that went up of team captains and co-captains that are battling it now or are in remission. I think cancer has touched everyone in some way or another. A cure is in our future! I have to believe that. ANYTHING you can do is so appreciated! This is my first year heading up a team and it's a learning process. Next year, we are planning on doing this again and would LOVE to have every 4042er here join the team! There's strength in numbers, people! So, who wants to start the bidding on Seabee? I am all about pimping someone out if it helps cure cancer!
