I need to find a place to repair a lawnmower that will not rip me off. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Normally I would agree, but just had a bad experience there. I had my rider serviced last year and had some issues. They were unwilling to waive the pick up fee to take another look at it. It seems to me if they service it and it doesn't run right after that, then they should pick it up for free and fix the problem. Not to mention they attempted to diagnose over the phone and I know enough to know that what they were saying was not problem.

Not a huge deal. I don't know how to describe it exactly, but I find the customer service there to be a little too...hard headed and bitter, perhaps?

Every other time (about three years now) they have done good work.

Took it to Griffs and they seem shady to me. The lawn mower will not start but will turn over.

is it a rider or push... not that it affects the running of the motor.

Griff's has always done good work for us at a reasonable price.

I have always been pleased with their work. Very nice people, and I would never call them shady. They have a nice shop and are very professional, which can be very unusual in the small engine repair business.

    Lambert's in Smithfield

We took our riding lawn mower to Lambert's this year after it was repaired at Griff's and worked worse than before it was repaired. When I called the owner at Griff's to tell him he hadn't fixed the problem (that it wouldn't crank) he basically told me I was too stupid to crank the mower that I've used for the past four years. Lucky for me Lambert's was able to work around my stupidity and I can now mow my grass.:?

Griffs has treated me well on several pieces of equipment over the last 7 months. Some of the equipment was old and neglected and others were just not started in years. On ALL of them, they did what was necessary on some and nothing more than tune-ups on what was okay. I highly recommend them!!!
