I'd like to get some topsoil from Stephenson's and some rocks from Martin Marietta on Garner road. Is there a local place to rent a truck? I've used Rent-a-Wreck on Capital but I'd like to find something closer since they charge mileage. Thanks for your help!

Martin Marietta doesn't deliver so we have to rent a truck for the rocks. The last time I bought rocks there I rented a truck for the rocks and thanks to your recommendation, my wife told me about Stephenson's and we also bought shrubs from them, but now that you mention it, they delivered the topsoil to our house. We really were pleased with the quality of the topsoil and the plants.

I can give you a number to a trucker who could haul for you from Martin if you need it.

I called Lowes a few weeks ago about their rental trucks. The person I spoke to said there is an hourly rate but not a per mile charge. Of course I have no idea if they knew what they were talking about, but it might be worth making the call.

A few months ago, my wife asked someone at the 40/42 Lowes about renting their truck and they informed her that you had to make a purchase, such as a lawnmower, grill, dryer, etc. I think I'll go by tomorrow and see what they say now. Thanks so much for the replies. We really need to buy a small used pickup but that's not possible right now unless we find a really good deal.

Yeah, we really want to get a small used truck as well, and have been looking for several months now with no luck. It appears that anyone buying is buying used, so anything we can afford that looks promising has been gone quickly. :(

ok, this isn't your guy than.. he hauls up to 20 tons a load, and with just 2-3 tons it would be a little high on delivery charge.. you could probably find some smaller haulers for a better price... don't know of any at the moment. good luck

did you check w/Stephenson's about your rocks, they do carry those too and would make it simple for you delivery to your house?
