Call me dumb but I'm lost about Lost.

    Who is Jacob?

    Why are there 2 Locke's?

If the bomb goes off then what happens?

Help me people! I've missed a few episodes and some things just don't make sense to me anymore!!!

Jacob is the one sitting on the beach grilling a fish in the beginning of yesterdays episode when his buddie arrives (who turns out to be Locke# 2),remember-Jacob says something like:"maybe you'll find that loop hole one day" and sure enough in the second episode he say's to Locke # 2 "I guess you found that loop hole"
If bomb goes off they are all supposed to be transported to the time before the crash.

While I missed last weeks episode, the one last night was very easy to follow, and the answers to your questions were all answered during last nights show.

    I still don't understand why there are 2 Locke's.

I know who Jacob is but I guess the question is what is Jacob? Is he supposed to be like God or something?

I think that Jacob's buddie assumed Locke's identity to make "things" easier for him with the fellow survivors,Ben, etc.
I would guess that "God" or at least something like that comes close.

Nah...he's sorta like the bullet proof monk in that he has special powers until he finds the one that can replace him....

I think Locke is cloned by Jacob. Jacob is more like a human alien with superpower.

In the first couple of seasons I felt it all had something to do with good vs. evil in a very abstract way. That has come to fruition with last night's episode. Jacob represents free will whereas the other guy represents determinism, or fate. Notice the white vs. black theme all through the show? Jacob wear white and the other dude wears black. This even came down to the closing credits. Anyone notice for the first time we see the LOST lettering in black on a white background instead of white lettering on black? This came on screen as soon as Jacob was killed an Juliette detonated the bomb, essentially turning the tables from good to bad or vice versa. Juliette wears red and represents the 'Big Bang' (bomb that resets things or creates a new universe, perhaps). She also has something to do creationism vs. science with all of the research into birthing babies on the island. Ben represents a Judas or Lucifer like character. The Others and the Dharma folks represent angles and demons whereas the Oceanic people (or anyone who come via any kind of ship) represent man caught in the middle.

The black smoke monster is the same as the 'other dude' talking to Jacob at the beginning. Remember the black smoke told Ben to do whatever Locke says, then the black smoke takes the shape of Locke and tells him to kill Jacob since he can't do it himself (he must convince someone else to do it for him). Also remember when the black smoke talks to Ben (in the form of Ben's daughter) Locke isn't in the room?

One more season...I think I'll probably just hibernate for eight months until it is back on.
