Perfect timing for this post! I'm in the market for an anniversary cake and taste is actually the most important thing. I tried one place and the cake was good but very bland. The icing was good but very very sweet. I want a buttercream icing and none of the fondant type. Have any of you purchased a two tier or stacked anniversary cake locally?

Call Big Steve's and ask for his daughters information. She has her pictures of the cakes she has made in there and her business card. We have had one of her cakes for a birthday, and it was fabulous. not to mention beautiful. Definitely give her a call.
I make them -- I can send you a photo of one I did for a 50th anniversary party. It looks more like a wedding cake - 3 tiers. I make homemade butter cream, homemade cake mixes, homemade fillings. I don't do fondant flowers or any of that, I use fresh fruit and flowers - and other stuff. Anyway, let me know if you'd like for me to send a pic.
