Look, no offense to the OP, because I'm not sure she knew better (but perhaps she did, owing to the pre-emptive apology), but the post is clearly in violation of the rules we all agreed to abide by by clicking on the little box. It just is. I'm not the board police, but if one person does it, it just opens the door. Some push the envelope as it is. 8)
That's true, but nobody had a problem with Monaco posting until he did some crappy work. In fact, lots of folks came on here promoting him. He was in the same boat as the OP in this thread. I'm not sure if Monaco had insurance or not, but I'm guessing from the way things went down on here that he did not. Anyway, it doesn't really matter. Who cares, right? Let's just move along. See, there is the fine line.................I don't remember (and may have missed) where HE started a thread. It's one thing to answer a query with a recommendation or offer to help...........it's another to start a thread with the express purpose of getting work. Which is why I generally send my recommendations by PM now. 8)

just curious, if he was laid off, why is not collecting unemployment insurance, he is entitled to it and it could really help out financially and maybe put him in the position to be able to get a license and insurance, just a thought.

The rules on here are like a buffett. You take what you like and leave what you don't. :lol: Monaco pimped himself around here for weeks - even if he didn't start a thread about it it was clear he was trying to drum up business. Nobody had a problem with that and people wanted to help him (until he ended up not doing such a hot job). I don't blame the OP if they wanted to give it a shot. Desperate times call for desperate measures. If she could get one job that would probably help them. This board has a reputation for helping people. I think instead of talking about breaking the rules we could at least brainstorm ideas for how he can try and get insurance, unemployment etc. I don't blame people after the Monaco thing if they don't want somebody coming to do work without insurance, but running someone off just because there's a rule in the flimsy rule list doesn't mean we can't help somehow. (Flame away.)
