http://www.wral.com/news/news_briefs/story/5168204/ I saw that the Clayton police had blocked off Covered Bridge on my way home today and wondered what was going on. My thoughts and prayers are with this family.
Yes, my teen knew her and said she was very nice. So sorry this happened and thoughts are with her family. So sad, Sherry
Yes, I forgot to state that Counselors will be at Clayton High for those needing someone to speak to tomorrow. Also know that she was a senior so the graduating class will have an empty chair with a cap and gown on it. So very sad for all! Take advantage of the counselors, if needed, Sherry
Oh no, she didn't have her seat belt on. That scares me. I wonder how many teens are driving around with no seat belt. I have a step-daughter the same age. This makes me so sad. I'll be praying for her family.
Unfortunatly there are several that do not wear them. I guess they seem to think that nothing will happen to them, but here is proof that it can. I think DD thought I was nuts when I just hugged her up after i read this.
I beg EVERYONE to please wear your seatbelt and wear helmets when riding bikes, motorcycles or other vehicles where your head is exposed. These things save lives and prevent serious injury!! You just want to shake kids and get the message through that this is such an easy thing to do to try and protect themselves.
This was one of my daughter's best friend's. My daughter and her other friends are just devastated. Please pray for the family and also the friends as this will make it very difficult going into exams and graduation. There is going to be a candlelight prayer vigil at 7pm tonight at Clayton High in the parking lot that borders Hwy 70.
This is so tragic. Having been employed at CHS in the past, I still feel like part of that family as well.
Thank you for the info about the vigil. My son goes to CHS. He didn't know Brittany, but I feel so very sad for everyone that knew her. He received a text about the accident and asking for prayers not long after the accident, and I received a recorded call from the principal informing us of her accident and death. So very sad. Everyone at Clayton High, her family and friends, are in our prayers. Please buckle up!
So sad! My prayers go out to her friends and family, it is especially hard to lose someone so young, one of my friends was killed in a car wreck when I was a junior in high school (granted...20 some years ago..) but had an impact on me that still affects me to this day. Prayers.
I know there are a lot of kids that would want to be there, but I do know they high schools spring concert is scheduled for tonight at the same time as this. I wonder if they will cancel the concert or change the day due to this?
