new balance from the new balance store not the cheap ones. They have great arch support and cushioning
My doc recommends asics (and I spelling that correctly?) and New Balance...of course there are shoes in both brands designed for specific things. I purchase the walking shoes because I firmly believe the only reason one shoudl run is if they are being chased. 8)
i do run/walk on the treadmill for nearly an hour and the next day my shins are killin! a wise woman told me i need different shoes so i am on the hunt.
After over 30 years of running, I have learned the following: when you first start you ask all the questions trying to absorb all the info. After a few years you think you know it all and start coaching others. After about 10 years you realize you really don't know anything and every body is unique-literally. My best guess, if you are just starting, what you are experiencing is normal. Running on a treadmill doesn't help, but if that is your only option, your body will adjust eventually. The best shoe for you is the one that fits best-forget brand. I assume you are female from avatar and don't be adverse to trying men shoes as the toe box is usually roomier. Please buy them big enough, even then you are going to lose toenails from pounding. If all else fails get back in touch and I will give you an exercise to help with shin splints which is going to be your next event. Now, I've told you more than I know. Stick with it.
My legs do not bother me at all, I just can't breathe! I end up giving up therefore not building any endurance. :x
Go to a store that professionally fits you. Try on tons of different shoes and see what feels the best. Fleet Feet is awesome and they have a 30 day money back policy...so you can run in them and if you dont like them..take em back. There are other stores that do the same thing. Good luck!
running store over on six forks, the running place or something...great...they put you on a treadmill watch you run and recommend the best style for you! Loving mine and im a slow fat white guy
if it dont get better i will be lookin you up! how long will it take til its not this bad? i am very impatient!
If you have normal feet ASICS are great. If you have wide feet New Balance shoes come in widths. I've worn both to run and like them both, but I currently wear ASICS for the cushioning.
i have narrow feet with high arches and i want my toe nail polish to remain in tact. i think more cushion is what i need.
Are you stretching enough? Also, can you adjust the platform on the treadmill to have a little more give? I have no idea what that is called but can with mine.
The New Balance running shoes I have now are the best I've ever had. They came from ****'s Sporting Goods. They have the number 538 on them. I don't know what that means. I love them!!!
