ugh I wish these ants would go away. bloody hell they are all over our kitchen, now I see them in the garage, which are not on the same side of the house so I think we have been invaded. We have a company come out and spray under the house, outside, and in the garage every quarter. they do not spray in the house because of our cats. One of our cats gets sick from eating them so every year it a big vet bill if we don't keep him locked up. We clean the house once a week, so it not dirty, so not sure what the problem is. I should have known this would start when I saw ant hills in the yard this past weekend. We had the same problem last year around this time, the past 6 years before that no problems. Our cat been throwing up few times tonight because he got into them before we got home. Sorry to complain just needed to vent. :grouphug:

Treat your yard. We bought some granules by ortho to get rid of ants, ticks, and heaven knows what else. We don't have ants at all in the house.

Try some cornmeal. Ants will consume it, but cannot digest it and die. I'm not sure that it works with all kinds of ants, however. If it works for you, it would certainly be a healthier alternative to pesticides.

As someone else mentioned....treat your yard. All this rain has contributed to your ant problem.

Yep. Apparently we live on a dang ant hill and the little pests come out when it gets warm. Harley knows some good stuff to use if you PM her.

I've had them around my sink for a couple of weeks now. No where near any food.. maybe mine are just thirsty. :jester: ...zapping them with $)( kills them pretty quick. I placed a "Hot Shot Ultra Liquid ant bait" on the counter and haven't seen them since. I hope it's not just coincidence that they went away at the same time.

    ants

There is some stuff called Terro that you can purchase that gets rid of ants in the house. It has these little pieces of cardboard that you put a drop on and then you set it out around the counters against the wall in your kitchen. Really good stuff.

Just PLEASE be soooo careful about what chemicals you are putting in/around your home...esp with kids and pets. Many of the pest control options out there are not healthy to be around, not properly tested and can potentially cause major health issues.

There are healthier solutions such as cayenne pepper, soap (either dried or sprayed on)...just google and you will find lots of better options.

Good luck...we are fighting the fire ants outside ourselves...evil buggers

We have them bad this year too! We bought some spray at Lowe's that you spray around your house inside and out. I see them all over the driveway, walkway and porch too though, so I am thinking we might need to treat the whole dang yard. I would much rather have these tiny little ants than other critters though!

I use vinegar to get rid of the ants. When I first see a sign of them I fill up my spray bottle and spay the counters, window seals, around the doors, etc.

Try it, it works and it is inexpensive!
