In the printing world and know of any companies hiring for a pressman? Newspapers, Printing companies, etc? :allears::allears::allears::grouphug:
Hmmm... let me think about it. International Minute Press does some printing for me, they are a family owned (franchise) business. Let me see...
Trriangle Communications Group recently moved from Raleigh, off Atlantic Ave, top behind FL at 4042. They do a lot of our work. 878-6789
These are the presses that he has run before. Currently running the Ryobi... He's also done a lot of camera work, stripping and prepress work. Ryobi 3302H AB D I C K 9850 1250 Multilith Hamada 6-color Roland
we currently operate a 4 color and 7 color KBA rapida sheetfed offset press, 6 color offset diddie mini web press and a 4 color Mark Andy flexo web press. That is why I was asking where the skills are. As to if we are hiring or not I'll ask the pressroom managers that today and let you know. Craig
Thank you Craig! He's been a pressman for 13 years and if he hasn't run a particular press he learns to very quickly. He's got lots of samples of his work 2, 4 and 6 color.
One department isn't hiring till they get another press, which should be in the next 6 months or so, unless we get one job we are trying to get. The other department is on hold till our new sheeter comes in the first week of June to find out just how much more capacity we will have. Craig
I moved to the Triangle area because there are so many printers here. I can tell you that Mebane packaging is ALWAYS hiring. I should know, they recruited me 4 years ago but I needed a life so I left when they closed the Garner plant { now owned by TCG}. PBM is usually hiring as well. You can also check out Colonial in Clayton, but they don't pay very well. It all depends on your experience, what kind of work you like { Folding carton, commercial, pharma, etc.} and the hours you are willing to work. Hope this helps you in your search!
Thank you Craig for asking around and please let me know what the outcome is on either front. I great appreciate it!:grouphug:
Printing I wish I did. I have a friend in WIlmington who lost his newspaper printing job after 23 yrs. Now they print the paper in Fayetteville and truck it to Wilmington each day.... fo figure! SH Super Storage Group-NC, KY & AL
So. did you get this one job you have been competing to get? Will you have openings? Pharma jobs can be so competitive; I suspect having experienced crews have a lot to do getting contracts successfully. Does anyone have updates on the job search the OP was inquiring about? Any job found yet?
In answer to your question, yes. Got the job, bought a new sheeter, and the company is looking at buying another 6 color diddie miniweb.
