At that age they go in groups and you sit in the back and watch. And as they get older, driving age, make your home the home they want to hang out at. That way you can keep a better eye on them. I had 5 teenagers at my house off and on all weekend. My kids are at the 21 age mark so they all got a lecture before they all went out. I made sure they had a dd. I knew exactly where the party was and told them to call if they had any problems. I got up Sunday morning and had kids here and mine were back at Campbell.
You just have to be really involved. You can be firm and still be the cool Mom. And I think my girls have turned out pretty good so far.

:allears: Mine are 9 (6/27) and 10½... so I'm paying close attention!

My 9yo did call a girl when he was in the 2nd grade. It was, "hey... whatcha doing? ok bye" .. but still cute.

Hard for me to believe sometimes too. But then again I think that is one reason all the kids like hanging out here. I'm so much younger that the other parents.

My grandmother was 38 when I was born, my Mom was 18 when she had me. I'm 38 now and can't begin to imagine being a grandmother!!

My son will be 10 next week and this thread is freaking me out..........:?

I like the idea of just letting everyone meet at the theater and sitting a few rows back. Better than not going at all in my book. 8)
