The new Dollar General on CSR is THE nicest DG I've ever been in - very nice people working the day I was in there too.

I don't know about the prices of everything there, but the laundry detergent I use is cheaper at Dollar General than anywhere else I've found, including Walmart. I've found prices there as good as just about anywhere on most things. If any are a bit higher most times it is worth it to me for the convenience, especially since most of the items are fairly inexpensive.

I was happy to see the new store on Cleveland School Rd. It will save me some money on gas, as well as money on the products I purchase there.

It really bothered me that they chopped down that beautiful old magnolia tree to build a dollar general. Personally, I’d rather have the tree than a bunch of cheap junk from China.

Does $ Gen carry Ladies swimsuits? I need to get a new suit for my 15yo and don't have much time. That's the closest store to me.

    I don't think they do.

I saw one or two in there yesterday, up toward the front by the registers.

    Paying It Forward

To the wonderful woman and her daughter who paid the remaining $1.42 of my total - I promise to Pay It Forward. Thank you so much for your kindness! The check machine and the credit card machine at the DG were acting hinky and I was short in cash. The woman behind me didn't think twice about covering the difference for me. Thanks again!

Dollar General does not take internet printed coupons. I found out the hard way and it totally ****ed me off. I'm about ready to give up couponing. It's too much work. Besides, who needs 10 free tubes of toothpaste? :ack:

I don't do it for toothpaste. I do it for deals like I got last night at Lowe's Foods.

I got $40 worth of stuff I use all the time for $15. I don't have money to throw away and it really helps. Twice this week, I've saved more than 50% on my bill, beyond what I did last night. It wasn't "junk" food either. 8)

  11. I feel so inadaquate when it comes to coupons. Every time I go to Lowe's I see these organized women with their binders of coupons sitting on their carts. I think you really have to accumulate a lot of coupons before they save you a lot of money. Then you can actually use one for something you actually need.

I have one of those, but haven't had time to mess with it lately. I just had an envelope of coupons and their sales flyer. It's a lot of fun to save that much money. Frugalmomof2 on here has awesome resources to get you started. I have to run out tonight for Cubscout Crossover, but PM me if you are interested and I can point you in the right direction, websites, etc. It's really not all that hard or terribly time consuming. I promise. I'm lazy, LOL.

  13. Me too - It's amazing how I can spend an hour on Facebook or 4042, but I can't seem to find the time to clip coupons!
