Anyone here using an OTA (over the air) TV antenna? I know it depends on the model but I was wondering the amount of distance one will pick up a signal? Any experiences outside of rabbit ears?
i can tell you this.. Don't go buy one of those expensive "digital" rabbit ears,etc... I got a regular pair of rabbit errors for 9 bucks and it picks up the digital channels like a champ
I should have clarified.....I'm referring to digital signals only. I have dish network and I get locals via that service. Recently, I plugged in some every day rabbit ears into my dish receiver and got channels out of Wilson, Goldsboro, Greenville and New Bern that I had not previously received. I'm wondering, with a larger antenna mounted in the attic, if I can reach the Greensboro market. I've checked several sites, like the one above, and it seems iffy at best. I was just wondering if anyone had any luck.
I have a $40 OTA looks like a 2ft x 2ft piece of fence. I have it hooked to my Directv and get all the local channels in HD.
I get all raleigh stations. If you want something out of market then you will probably need an amplified antenna to boost your signal.
Actually, at least where I live, the amplified antennas really aren't that much better than the unamplified antennas (for my High Definition radio it actually hurt its performance).
