I heard about that while I was down in Wilmington today. So sad. My prayers to the families, especially those that are missing. Mike
Peaches, WRAL just broke in saying there are 2 confirmed fatalities, one female. They are still searching for the 3rd missing person. Praying for your friends and their family...:grouphug:
According to WRAL... Police have identified one of the two explosion victims from the ConAgra Foods plant as Barbara McLean Spears, 43, of Dunn. Crews recovered her body late Tuesday and notified her family before releasing her name to the media Wednesday morning.
This tragedy really touches home... My brother had just finished his shift hours before the explosion. I am so thankful that he is safe, but my heart goes out to the families of those who were not as lucky...
I know this is probably way to soon to ask this, but do they have any ideas what may of caused the explosion?
They're doing a news conference right now. They are attempting to cut a hole in the roof to go through to get to one of the victims still in there. They also said they have confirmed the 3rd victim who is deceased as well. So sad for all involved, thoughts and prayers going out to all the families and friends touched by this tragedy. update: they just confirmed 3 deaths.
I read somewhere that over the weekend someone had called and threatened to start a fire. Don't know if it's related to this incident or not. I sure would hate to think that someone did that on purpose.
They mentioned that this morning on the news, saying that they have rec'd numerous emails and calls about it. Congra says it's not related. That that was taken care of. :?
Odd that the explosion blew out the front wall causing the roof to collapse, but yet the side wall was undamaged, while several roof sections towards the rear of the building had collapsed as well.
