So I hate to by into the hype, but I've been following this John and Kate marriage drama. Now there is some hour special where there is going to be "a special announcement." Most people are speculating that they will announce divorce, which is a good possibility, but here is my theory. I think this whole marriage drama thing may have been hyped up by producers and a ploy to pull in the huge ratings that they have been getting as a result. I think that they have exagerrated it and may now announce that they are indeed going to stay together and try to make it work. This would garner maybe even more publicity coverage than if they said they were getting divorced. I would hope that they would even say that they were going to stop the show for a while, but doubt that is going to happen. They will probably let the cameras in on their counseling sessions etc. If they divorce I don't think a lot of people are going to follow the show and I don't think Kate is willing to have that happen. Not to mention that for all of those kids' sake they should at least try to make it work. Anyway, there you have it. What do you think the "big announcement" will be?
I am also beginning to think it was all a BIG publicity stunt. They've been on magazine covers for weeks, you can't turn on the TV without hearing about them. I'm SO over it. I couldn't care less whether they stay together or not, except for the effect on the kids. She's an attention w***e and he needs to grow a back bone. But yeah, I don't think they will actually divorce. That might affect the gravy train.
I think they are going to announce that this will be the last season and that they will be staying together to work on their marraige! ( atleast I hope so )
I just can't believe that so many people care. I can't watch 5 minutes of the show because Kate is a total beotch and it embarasses me for Jon the way she talks to him.
I wonder why people like a lot of reality shows....American Idol being one The Bachelor being another and for every person that doesn't like this reality show I bet there is one they do like that many don't. As always, to each their own.
I like very few of them.............we've always watched Survivor(I think DH would do well on there, LOL). But I don't watch many others. I used to watch DWTS, but missed it last time. The world certainly didn't stop when it was on. I actually really like "Little People, Big World" on TLC and "Deadliest Catch" of course. Not sure why I like "Deadliest Catch" though, as it's pretty much the same thing each episode. Cranky captain, irritable crew, bad weather and fishing. Maybe I feel sorry for 'em working out in that weather?
I really like Deadliest Catch as well (watched my recorded episode yesterday!), but I know that A LOT of people can't fathom why we would watch it. And same thing with DWTS. I love that one too!
I love watching reality shows, even J&K+8.....I just don't care about their personal drama that's being shoved down my throat and over-hyped because of the media. Just like American Idol, I love it when the show is going on, afterwards, could careless, I don't care about Adam's sexual orientation, HELLO, we all know. who cares??? the media. I have only bought one CD from someone on American Idol, and that was Daughtry, and he rocks and is cute (and basically has stayed out of the media scrutiny), which is why I watch the Batchelor (if they're cute, I don't care if they find love)..... oh and we love Deadliest Catch and DWTS too.
I think the big announcement is that they are staying together and that she is pregnant again. Remember how she wanted to adopt ONE child last season. She wanted to know what it was like to raise just ONE child and not multiples.
Deadliest Catch, that about the only show I watch anymore. Never seen this John and Kate show, never plan to watch it, that all I hear about on the news or web site, rather tired of it.
Well Jon was seen apartment hunting in NYC yesterday so I'm assuming that means that they aren't staying together. I know that 50% of marriages end in divorce, but with that many kids involved, and such a public decision to show their lives, it's really sad for the children.
Did you all see the magazine cover that showed "Kate HITS her daughter". I would swat my daughter on her rear too if she insisted on blowing a whistle while I was on the phone, AFTER I told her to stop. Gossip Rag Sensationalism.
It's pretty bad. I mean shooting them in public is one thing and bad enough (why they are still subjecting their kids to it is another story), but standing outside their house and clicking away is just awful. P.S. My theory totally bombed. Oh well.
Those 2 are filthy rich by now and they don't even have to continue that show anymore. So I don't want to hear either one of them complain about their lack of privacy, etc. I can only take so much of that show. After watching it for awhile, I feel like pulling my hair out.:banghead:
I think that show will tank now. Instead of it being about the kids, its become a John and Kate Watch and its pathetic. They should have called it quits (on the show) long ago and decided to work on their marriage instead of their celebrity image. Its like it was said earlier in the week. Reality show marriages are doomed to fail because they put the microscope on the imperfections that all couples have and amplify them to a national audience. I will say that the kids likely benefited with a better house, more approprate transportation, trips, etc. but look at the consequences...having their dad and mom split up. Kate had controlling issues and I think as of late as turned into a hollywood bombshell wannabe. John has become sulky and withdrawn. He's probably envious of the attention that everybody gets and when someone else showed some interest, it drew him closer. Approaching middle age has a way of bringing out the restlessness in people's spirits.
I think they should stop the show for good. Someone told me yesterday they heard that when they come back on in August the name will be "Kate and eight". That is crazy! She is all about the money.
