1...No, I still haven't seen Jake again. but I know he's there, snakey snickering at me..(picture Bill Murray in Caddy Shack..varmint Cong...) 2. As she said, C6 slept wonderfully last night, as did I. I figured that if Jake came calling, I'd save my strength for the freak out when and if it happened. 3. Glad that my foibles have amused so many. We'll have this to laugh about for a while. 4. I'm ok, until the next case of heebie jeebies.... 5. what's that noise I keep hearing? When I look, it goes away...
Yeah...old Tom T. Hall song...but was he talking about a snake or sumpin' else..(yoiu know Tom T Hall had a way with his lyrics...lol
Boys and girls take warning, if you go near the lake Keep your eyes wide open, and look for sneaky snake Now maybe you wont see him, maybe you wont hear But hell sneak up behind you, and drink all your root beer And then sneaky snake goes dancin, wigglin and a-hissin Sneaky snake goes dancin, gigglin and a-kissin I dont like old sneaky snake; he laughs too much you see When he goes wigglin through the grass, it tickles his underneath Well, sneaky snake drinks root beer, and he just makes me sick When he is not dancin, he looks just like a stick Now, he doesnt have any arms or legs, you cannot see his ears And while we are not lookin, hes stealin all of our beer And then sneaky snake goes dancin, wigglin and a-hissin Sneaky snake goes dancin, gigglin and a-kissin I dont like old sneaky snake; he laughs too much you see When he goes wigglin through the grass, it tickles his underneath
DH thougt that maybe he is a she and she came in to lay her eggs that will hatch end of August early September. Years ago we had a snake come in an open screen door (the dogs would push the patio door's screen open to watch us working in the yard) from a deck during an abnormally dry Summer. Since the dogs let the snake in they surrounded it and sent out the alarm. Before I got to the kitchen I knew they had cornered a snake, you could smell it too. It was terrified. How do you think your's came in? You have a dog? I'm sure a dog could find it. Although left alone as much as it has been it could be anywhere. I've seen black snakes scale the side of a house, tree, porch; they defy gravity. They also can squeeze into the tightest of spaces. Any appliances he/she could have gotten under? Happy Hunting.
Well, when you take my money, baby, when you hurt my family it's like walkin' through the swamps without no shoes and step on a snake, it's deadly. Ah oo, let's cry for the bad man. Ah oo, I wrote a song for the bad man.
BL, You're so very helpful with your post. I received much comfort from it. Now a new set of worries...a snake laying eggs in the house. Thank you so much..:ack:
couldn't find the original clip for the song, but here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MchhtofbgJI And from the sounds of things from last night, this is what H6 was doing after he saw the snake. hehehehehe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IibWNZjMXg&feature=related
Note to self: There will be a very cheap house on the market come the end of August . . . remember to make previous owner remove recliner in basement . . . and clorox.
If only you had listened to me yesterday you would now be relaxing in the pool at the hotel and counting the money from the sale of your house. But NO, you had to be a hero and stay in the house. Next time maybe you'll listen. :banghead:
Hat.... Some information you may find helpful... http://www.bio.davidson.edu/projects/herpcons/herps_of_NC/snakes/Elaobs/Ela_obs.html And from a reptile forum, some really decent ideas how to get your new house guest to leave... http://www.reptileforums.net/forums...t-my-snake-in-my-househow-can-i-find-him.html
And what about snake #5? Would it happen to be a NC trouser snake? :jester: Don't mind me tonight . . . I've been in the garage pricing yard sale stuff and I am hot and dirty and in need of a bath!
Oh and while I was digging in boxes it crossed my mind that I might run up on a snake so I kept a clear path between me and the door!
Good Morning Hat, Hope all is going well on your end and from reading through the Thread it looks as though you have not found the snake. We have plenty of oxygen on our end, if needed, when you do find it and the little ones later this summer.:lol: Sherry
