I don't know if you guys have ever been there but this place is AWESOME! They have such a great selection and you get so much more than you pay for. I could not be happier with the products and service. Here is a link in case you want to check it out:

Wow, thanks for that post. I am going to get over there next weekend. I LOVE different color daylillies. I go from store to store looking for different colors. Now I can get everything in one spot.

Yes, I love them over there! I haven't been there this year yet. They do have a great selection, and because they are open June & July on the weekends, you can go several times and see whats blooming when, early, mid & late bloomers.

Also if you're interested in Japanese Maples, their daughter is growing and selling alot of different varieties. Ask them for her info while you are there.

I've not been there in the last two years but at one point, I was going every weekend; I'd get there early, already had my list made out (used to have a listing of the daylilies, cost, etc) and then just before I handed my list in to Miss Molly, I would take a walk around and see just how beautiful they were and would change the whole thing. My daylilies have done well over the years and some of them are real beauties.

Yes...thats what I forgot to say. Go early in the morning, it gets very hot out there walking thorugh the fields! I keep a list with the names of all the daylillies I've already got so I don't buy it again. I also keep my catalog with notes from the previous year so that I can look for any I liked but didn't buy. Their catalog/directory is great!

So is it $10.00 PER flower or do you get multiples? I was looking at the on-line catalog. I want some red, purple and yellow ones.

For $10 you should get a really good size clump, several plants. When you get your list ready and paid for, the woman in the office will give the tags and list to a digger, they go out on the golf carts and dig up your order. Sometimes, if you ask you can ride with them, i've gotten some good daylily tips from those guys while riding with them. And also, my choice of clumps sometimes!

The great thing about daylillies is that they multiply.

Not unless the prices have gone way up and you are buying expensive ones. I remember spending about $35 and coming home with a lot. Not sure if its still the same but the diggers would dig up clumps - not just one or two fans. I used to ride the cart with my digger and would actually pick the ones out that I wanted. I like to buy them with the blossoms closed. I actually had one of the men who worked with Noel show me how to hybridize the daylily. It is better to go first thing that way you are one of the first ones and your wait time is much shorter. Another option is go, look, turn in the list and then come back for them. One of my all-time favorites is MARIE BUMBARNER which was actually given to me by Ray Quinn; I believe Ray actually created that one.

    Daylillies

I agree, this place in awesome. I have been for the past 3 weekends. I'm running out of room to plant them. Most of the flowers there are between $5-$25, but there are tons of them in the $5 to $6 range in all colors. I always have enough in a cluster to split them with my mom, and we each pay $2.50 a piece. Be sure to label them or you will forget which ones you get from year to year. They are all gorgeous!

This place is fabulous if you are looking for specific varieties and only need a few to plant. Last year, I decided I wanted all my backyard beds edged with daylilies and guestimated it would take 100 to do so. For ease of care, reblooming and the fact that you can find them anywhere, I went with the stella d'oro-the basic yellow/orange-ish one you see everywhere. I cut a deal with a guy out at the farmers market to get 100 of them for $1/each and this year they are gigantic and have been blooming like crazy! Granted, they were just a couple fans last year and nowhere near as big as the clumps you get a the daylily farm, but for volume and a year to multiply, this was the way to go! Now in another year, I'll have my own farm:lol:

This place is great. Years ago we bought daylillies for our neighborhood entrance here. The prices were unbeatable. We did have to put them into the back of a truck or bring tarps so we didn't get the car dirty because when we got them there weren't any pots to put the clumps in. I liked the place so much that the next year I bought daylillies for my own yard. If I get a chance I may swing by and pick up more.

Head down 50 towards Garner, and about 1/2 mile or so before 70 you will see it on the left. Dirt lot to park in, big field of flowers... there is no big huge sign or anything...so you have to really look for it.

I think they are open Friday Sat. Sun. You might bring a few of your own buckets, trash bags, or recycled grocery bags to put the clumps in so your vehicle doesn't get dirty. I seem to recall they usually use the plastic grocery bags.... but I've brought my own before.

I'm waiting for one of my favorites to bloom and I'll put a picture of it up...
