Just heard that alot of car break ins last night...the mr's truck was broken into but nothing but change was taken. Seems to me like it's more than likely kids trying to get money. Just a reminder to lock your doors! My truck was not messed with, it was locked and my purse was sitting on my front seat. Thank goodness that my windows were intact this morning!

Anyone else in Austin Meadow's get hit??

As a positive, nothing in the garage was messed with or touched....so either just looking for money, or they don't want to elevate the charges!

Why would you leave your purse sitting on your front seat over night? You're very lucky they didn't break your window trying to get it!

Because I have a 6 year old who has lots of stuff...plus, we only have 4 other houses in our cul de sac...false sense of security I guess...Oh well...I have insurance and if anything had of happened it would have utilized...honestly, my purse has nothing in it...they would have been VERY mad!

Be careful, my purse was stolen out of my car last year (wasn't locked though, so they didn't break a window, just opened the door and helped themselves)...and my car was in the garage! Insurance doesn't help much though, because you have to reach your deductible first, it would have to go on homeowners, and if you're like me the deductible is $1000. They stole cameras and GPS too, and combined it would have been about $800, so we couldn't claim it.

I live in austin meadows and last night around 3 in the morning my dog was going crazy and it woke me up. I go to look outside and there are 3 guys riding their bikes down the road with book bags on and they were dressed in dark clothes. They seen me and took off! Thought we lived in a good area, guess not!:x

Interesting. I live about a mile down the road from there, and there was a very nice bicycle lying in my front flowerbed this morning. Wonder if they stole it somewhere else and ditched it here? Anyway, I stood it up in the front lawn, and it's gone now, so hopefully the owner found it.

This was not a women's bicycle, but they could have stolen more than one. It's gone now, anyway. I'm just hoping now that it was picked up by the owner, not someone else.

The sheriff's department was called later in the morning and I was told that LOTS of houses in the neighborhood were hit....mainly items that were stolen were GPS, electronics, wallets and loose change.

    Lock your doors!

PLEASE DONT TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY ....:grouphug:

If you DONT lock your doors, you are dumb as a rock!
Just because we are *out in the county* doesn't mean we can nilly willy leave our doors to our cars unlocked, our garage doors open, etc .... seriously, SHUT YOUR GARAGE DOORS AND KEEP YOUR VALUABLES INSIDE YOUR HOUSE!

how many times do I have to tell ya'll? :boxing:

So I'm dumb! lol...I'm also forgetful....But we recognized this and when the deputy showed up, we told him we didn't want to file anything..just wanted them to be aware! I told the deputy that the doors were unlocked...my truck was locked and ended up being fine.

No worries...I'll be the first to say I'm a little dumb sometimes and very forgetful! Just ask MamaApe!

    Stolen Bike in Austin Meadows!

My bike was stolen on Thurs. night from Austin Meadows. They left a muddy bike in return for me to ride. My bike was a womens mountain bike silver w/ blue wrinting. There is a chance that could of been my bike found in someone flower bed. But the bike was not returned. So i guess the person that stole it, got it back! I hate it b/c now I am always hearing things at night and can't sleep peaceful...thinking someone is looking around my house. But i do keep my car locked, and it has an alarm!
