I had mine done 2 years ago...With the Filshie clips. Apparently they have seen such a high number of failure with these in the past few months that they are recommending that everyone either go on birth control or have a repeat...

    I can't take birth control due to a heart condition...so yeah...at 26, I get my 2nd tubal...isn't that fun.

Def. not the phone call I wanted! Hopefully the company that manufactured the clips will pay for the repeat surgery....if not, looks like I get to pay for 2 surgeries!

Almost 20 years for me and no problems. My Mom had it done about 35 years ago and was that one in a million that had 2 sets. That's how my sister got here. Lol

Easier for him?? Sure...but I have the heart problem. Still a failure rate for V's! I want to make sure that since it's ME with the issues, I do all I can to prevent it. The first one wasn't that bad, just more of an annoyance at having to do it again!

Hopefully the company who manufactured the clips will be paying for the repeat surgery...since it was their product that has a high failure rate.

I'd imagine it'd be the same as if it were pacemakers that were malfunctioning. That company would have to pay for repeat surgeries, so I'm hoping that this company will do the same. If they don't, I'll pay for it. It's something that is NEEDED and something that I'm not willing to risk!

Now you have me wondering about this. When I had baby girl 2 years ago I got the little clip ... so far no more babies. As much as I love little ones, I'm not really planning on having any others. I haven't received any calls from my doctor. I'm in the process of changing from Cobra insurance to something else ... last thing I need is another reason for the new company to increase the rates. We already have one preexising condition to worry about because of my husbands recent knee surgery ... I'm sure something like this will just be a reason to deny coverage for me or increase the rates even higher. My luck ... the clip won't work and I'll end up giving birth to triplets when I'm 50 ... Yikes!!!!

I had mine done at Rex and got a call from the nurse there yesterday. I called my dr. today and they are wanting everyone who was called to schedule and appt to come in ASAP.....So if it was at Rex, they would have called you.
