According to TMZ.com, they got a statement from one of people that knew MJ very well and they said it wasn't surprising that MJ died so soon because they've seen him going downhill. Also, what shocked me the most is that MJ's children won't return to their mother. She gave up her parental right in court. Now who's going to watch them? Joe Jackson? I HOPE NOT!

Well, there's always a silver lining for somebody. I suppose Gov. Sanford is not sorry to be pushed out of the headlines.

OH great you stole my thunder for tommorrow. I was going to say he is the only person in the world that has gone from being a black man to a white woman.

Oh, I'll bet MSNBC isn't going to be deterred from plastering Sanford.

I danced all over Europe to MJ's Thriller album back in the day. I am sad that his life took a bizarre turn. RIP Michael Jackson.

Bottom line for me is this. He was a genius when it came to music and I doubt will be outdone when it comes to that anytime soon. His personal life seemed a huge mess and sad, twisted etc. but a sudden death is tragic for his family and fans.

Instead of things in threes...I wonder if there will be a fourth? As bad as I hate to mention it, you know Patrick Swayze looks to be in his latter days.

He never had a chance to be a child, and never really learned how to be an adult. Sad.

Yes and parents who push early stardom need to consider the risk of forever changing their children. Kids need to be kids first and foremost.

I was a young teen when Elvis died. I didn't understand all the fuss at the time. It looks like MJ was my generations Elvis.

I played too when I was younger, had the game, and I always wanted to be Jill. On the show I always liked Sabrina (Kate Jackson).

My comments to the Jackson death overshadowing the Fawcett death is this.

Fawcett has been in the "lime light" for that last few years due to her cancer, while Jackson's death is a sudden and thus larger news for the media to cover, than someone who has limited time such as Fawcett.

All three this week are tragedies to the entertainment world.

Jackson was the fourth. Don't forget David Carridine.

I think it was more of a shock to the public, but maybe not so much to people who knew him. I heard that Lisa Marie Presley wants custody of at least one of the kids. If that happens, just shoot me.:?

Why would she get custody of one of his kids? She's not their mother.

Yes, they are talking more about MJ than Farrah, but I do believe that it's because of the sudden shock. And they're not forgetting about her completely, I've had the news on constantly since hearing about MJ's death and they keep mentioning her as well. There was a special on 20/20 last night devoted to her and there's another one tonight.

I also think MJ was more of a legend to us "younger" fans, so they might be doing it more for ratings (on TV anyway)...But I will say that Michael Jackson was my first idol growing up, when I was in Elementary School I remember him being a huge deal. I loved all his songs and used to sing and dance to his records all the time. My cousin and I even got up front of the whole school when we were very young (and no dance training or anything even close to it!) and did a routine to Beat It. Very embarrassing to think about now, but we did it! Anyway, I know people have a lot of opinions about him, many not good, but we cannot judge someone we do not know at all except what the media portrays. I hope he rests in peace.

Oh - and I also heard actor Jeff Goldblum died yesterday as well, but haven't seen it on the news at all to confirm. But that would be the 5th...
