I just went on the website for the Garner library to see what they were offering for kids this summer. I found a couple things I've got questions on, and they didn't have any info listed.

There's a weekly summer camp offered called Science in the summer, I think my oldest would love that, but it didn't list a cost and I didn't see a registration form online. Anyone ever do this before and know how much it costs?

Also there's something called Summer Splash offered Wed afternoons for school-age kids but it doesn't say what it is, anyone know?

This is a good time to go as half the books aren't even colored yet.

They offer a once a week summer program for school age children Wednesdays at 3:00. It typically lasts about an hour and includes a speaker or some type of demonstration and a craft. Last week they had a man come and talk about knights. Her had armor and weapons to show the children. They made a jester hat. Be sure to call the library to sign up as they do limit the number of children who can attend.

Many years ago when mine were younger we would do the summer programs. Back then all programs were free. With budgets the way they are I suggest calling the library to seek your answers.

Usually after the program we'd hang out for awhile. We'd each pick out a book and sit quietly and read and then check some books out to carry home.

I do know that if you are not a resident of Wake County there is a yearly fee.

The Clayton Library has lots of stuff going on this summer. Just ask for a calendar. It's all free!

That is a stupid comment. The Ganer library is very good with a good selection of books. Very upto date and new selections. They also offered good programs for kids when ours was 3-5 year old range.
