dumb question

  1. What's the best way to insert an image on a post. It says to enter the URL address. Do you have to do that? If so, is there an easy way to copy and past it? Sorry, I'm not very computer savvy...(did I spell that right?)

OK, there are several ways to do it. This is what I do.

Right click on the image you want to insert. In the drop-down menu, select "copy image location." Then go to the post you want to put the image in. Click where you want the image to be. Then click on the little picture postcard in the row of icons above the message. A dialog box will open. DO NOT click in it, but just hit control+V and then click OK. You will see the image immediately if it works.

You can also right click on the image, go to properites and copy the url, then use the insert picture icon and paste the url there. After you paste, you have to delete one of the "http://" or when copying, don't copy that part.

  4. Thank you, KDsGrandma!

    Here's how I do it

go to www.photobucket.com and get a free account

    Then click on 'upload photo'

Click browse and then My Pictures

It doesn't matter if you use Adobe or Picassa - you will see your photos - they just might be in separate folders.

When you find the pic you want to upload double click it and photobucket will retrieve it

once it is done click save and continue and then repeat the upload/browse/etc step

till you have all in photobucket that you wish to post here on 4042 or email

Then if you highlight the pic you want to bring to 40/42 you will see links below it appear. Choose the bottom one it will begin with an image tag [IMG. . .

Left click on the IMG tag, then copy it - I usually copy all of the IMG tags to word Pad - If I'm posting more than 1.

Then start your message here, and when you want the photo to show just right click and paste the IMG tag - or multiples if you used wordpad. . . and Voila

Good luck with it - it's easy after you do it once or twice.

What I said and what Bandmom said will only work if the image is already on the internet. If you want to post pictures from your computer, follow Zookeeper's instructions.

You have to close it with [/img]

  14. OHHH! Thanks Cleo!!! I'll try that one.

  15. Well, now it looks like that but no image. Will I not see the image until it's actually posted?

That depends on your editing options. Go to UserCP, then click on edit options. Go all the way to the bottom of the page where it says miscellaneous options. It says Message editor interface, and you can choose basic, standard or enhanced. If you choose enhanced - WYSIWYG - you should see the picture right away. With one of the other choices, you probably would not.

Oh - and one more thing - you can always preview your post before you hit submit, if you want to see what it's going to look like when you post it.

  20. [IMG]Ok - It works now! My daughter wanted me to use this pic. Thanks!
