Anyone watching it today? I'm recording just in case anything interesting happens. I probably won't watch it until later.
of course!!! my kids are watching it at home too....they keep calling me. I have it streaming live in the background here at work. I wish I was there!!
So you're offering to pay my mortgage this month? I'll go back to Vegas with that saved money!!
WARNING: RANT BEGINS HERE! Not for nothing, but did Farrah Fawcett even get a Charlies Angles Marathon on tv since her death? I mean really...she fought cancer for 3 years without ever giving up until the end. MJ, he's was just a sad drug addict that made good music once upon a time, and I bet they will find that he did take that drug Diprivan (used in operating rooms to induce unconsciousness before surgeries). They did find it in his house and he'd repeatedly asked for it to be dispensed to him. On top of all the other drugs he was taking, quite a cocktail that must have made, I can guess thats what killed him. I am watching... and the brothers all do look nice, but could someone slap the gum out of his oldest sons mouth please! RANT OVER
They'll probably play it again and again for the next week. Plus, dollars for donuts they'll have it for sale packaged with the last rehearsal and other clips I'm sure.
Here's what I don't like about some Memorial Services. These celebrities and preachers talk about how Michael showed God's love throughout his life. They sing about Jesus. Stevie Wonder even said God needed MJ in heaven. Really? Why not sing about Jesus and talk about heaven when people are alive? When did Michael ever sing about Jesus? When did Michael even talk about Jesus? It's all of the sudden okay to say Jesus is Lord as long as someone just died. There is an assumption out there that because you so loved and you did so many great things, you must be in heaven!
Gotta pay off that $500 million dollar debt! OK I watched it..and I cried. It was a nice Memorial Service, couldn't helped being touched seeing his kids. Brooke Shields also did a good job
The only reference to Jesus I've heard contributed to Michael Jackson was when he referred to the fruity liquor he allegedly gave one of child victims and called it "Jesus Juice." From what I understand, he was a muslim now anyway. This type of memorial is designed to stroke the sympathy from all walks of life and not to offend anyone who might actually buy a DVD or CD or perhaps attend one of many "tribute" concerts probably already in preparation. Religion just becomes a matter of convenience when actually some might would say the Jacksons engage more in self-worship than directing it toward a higher power. Of course, this also revives the topic of Jehovah's Witnesses in a way, since the Jacksons were JWs before they were whatever they are now. That's why its best not to publicize stuff like this. These people are appreciated for their talents and gifts as celebrities and not to be idolized or used as any kind of example as "humanitarians."
:iagree: She was grieving the loss of her friend Michael, the one she grew up with. I think it was a loving tribute, and showed the sensitive, human side of this man.
