Okay so at first I thought this was normal but the other day I took my dog out back and there were literally hundreds of June Bugs flying about..it took me awhile to figure out what they were until one actually landed on me. :) Just wondering is this normal for Johnston Co? Back home I'd see 1 here and there..not 100!

Yeah, I've got them little simon birches all over my yard too. Seems they've been worse over the last three years, don't know why.

Hmmm, you got me there - but I didn't say we are right, just that we call them Japanese Beetles.:)

I saw a medical show one time where a june bug burrowed into a person's eardrum after the person had fallen asleep outside.

Too bad it wasn't NY9. He could have increased his intelligence by 200%

They are everywhere in my yard, my 2 yr old does not want to play outside because of them. How long do they stay around?:?:

according to this link their grubs do more damage than the adult june bug.
No worry there since our dachshund just loves to dig up the grubs, those and japanese beetle grubs as well and eats them  she hasn't learned how to eat with her mouth closed yet so it sounds quite disgusting ;)
