  1. Looking to trade red slider turtle for hamster

My cousin and his wife went to the beach this past weekend and got my 3 1/2 year old son a red slider turtle from one of the shops without asking me first or whatever, I dont mind him having a first pet, but I looked up information about turtles online and they need alot of attention and other things. For example, I am unemployed, I cant buy a tank, a filter and whatever items it says it needs. I used to have a hamster and I think that would be a great pet for my son, ofcourse I would be the one looking after it, Hamsters are alot cheaper to care for, I can buy it's items. So if you are willing to trade a hamster, that comes with a cage and food and whatever else items it may have for a baby red slider turtle, with cage and food, Please get back with me, I do not drive, but stay in the Johnston County area, So maybe somebody would come here to make the trade.

You might check with the new owner of the pet store at 42. He might be interested in having it as a display item. Of course, it's illegal to SELL turtles in NC, but maybe he can trade something out for you?

Oh, and I thought I'd add, I bought two of these turtles Memorial Day weekend at the beach, 2 for $15. So they were $7.50 each. The little cage that they come in is about $6 or $7 bucks and the food about $2.

If you can't find a suitable trade for him, I'll give you $8 for tht turtle and add him to my tank. You could buy a hamster for that, but you'll still need a tank/cage for the hamster.

Please don't leave that turtle in that tiny little container very long. It's not good for them.

Honestly, if it comes down to it, let me know and I'll come give you the $8.

Yeah, those "cheap" turtles end up costing a dang fortune. We've had ours about 2 years now and have at least $400 in tanks, etc since then.

But like Jen said, please find something to do with it soon, it won't last long without proper care.

  8. Oh ok, I paid $25 for it all, it all just came together at a shop called Pacific Beachwear. Anyways, The turtle is gone, Made a trade tonight with a couple, So we have a guinea pig, came with cage, food dish, water bottle, fresh veggies and fruits. So it was a pretty good trade! The main part is, my son is happy with him!! =)

  11. They paid $25 for it all, My cousin and his wife. I know where it came from already because they told me when they first gave it to my son. I paid them $25 back, just because I was going to trade it and felt bad, They told me I didnt have too but I did. And I asked them how much it was, And they told "$25 for it all" and I said ok and gave them the money just for the fact that they bought it and I was trading it.
