Wonder if WalMart will have a soft opening before the grand opening

They usually do a few days before they have their grand opening. Anybody heard anything? :allears:

 

I think you should go park up there with your coupon binder and wait....just like a spider.....and report back to headquarters if you see anything.

I heard they were going to have a re-grand opening for the one on 70 as well, not sure if this is true or not.

 

They have ticked me off during this remodel so much, I may boycott it and start going to the new one just because. What a freaking mess. Stuff not in the same place from one day to the next, no prices on stuff, no signage and useless employees. Oh, wait, that's Walmart's M.O. :?

I don't like the new layout of the WalMart in Clayton on Hwy 70. I know they are not done but the way they are planning it makes no sense. Do they really think devoting all that space to electronics is going to increase sales? And for all the remodeling, it still won't look that new inside. Yep...I may have to travel up to 40/42 myself for my WalMart needs.

I was in there over the weekend and my son wanted to look at backpacks for school.....we couldn't find them (they weren't anywhere near school supplies)--found a couple by the purses but they were "too girly Mom!!" Asked 3 different employees where they were, two said "I dunno" and one said "by the school supplies" and walked over there and was as surprised as I was that they weren't there. We ended up leaving without buying anything!! If I'm going to be wasting gas like that I can't wait for the one 40/42 (closer to me!!!)

 

Crap. I was hoping to go there tomorrow for back packs and other supplies. There was a certain kind we got from them and they lasted two school seasons. I don't know if that is long or not.. maybe long for walmart.
We'll be at Kohl's anyway, might as well head to Target... Thanks for the warning!

 

We went looking for backpacks at the factory outlet stores in Smithfield. Found a great deal on Eddie Bauer bags, but there are a number of places out there to find backpacks...especially if you want a name brand attached to it. If not, I can tell you that Walgreens had some good bags for $5-$10 bucks. They aren't name brand bags, but still decent to fairly sturdy none the less.

As for Wal-Mart in Clayton, its sucks having to find something in there right now. We were shopping in there Saturday and its a mess. When they have something that works, why not just leave it alone.
