Picnic Areas close to Clayton

    I want to take some kids on a picnic some where nice with playgrounds. Could you make some suggestions? Thanks, Pat

    Clemmeons State Park is nice...trails, talking rocks and talking trees. The park on Amelia is also nice with playground stuff and a walking trail around the pond-thingie.

    I agree, Clemmons is a good place with plenty of shade around the picnic area.

    The park in Clayton (off Guy Rd?) looks nice, but I've never been. We always go to the one at Lake Benson, they actually re-did it and have brand new playgrounds, plenty of places for a picnic and walking trails.
