I have gone there. Music is upbeat and worship band is good. Chruch is growing quickly, lots of new faces, so hard to meet people I found. Minister is good speaker, but one on one skills not so much. they do not have a lot of "churchwide" functions which makes meeting peole difficult as well. Hope this helps.
I don't have any information on this Church but after after our fire this church was kind enough to give my family a gift card for Wal- Mart ,but when we received the card from this man from who met us @ Wal Mart, he followed us around the store to watch what we were purchasing, which my wife and I thought was kind of eerie. However I have no other info on this church. We do not attend this church
DD goes there and I go with her occasionally. She loves it. She also goes Wednesday nights for youth group and also has signed up to help with the younger kids. The times I have been there, I have been made to feel nothing but welcome. A lot of the things they do, they do not do for money. I know they had a car wash and did not charge anything for it. They said they were just doing it for the people. I think they are based off baptist, but there are all religions there.
My family visited there before they moved into the old grocery store and we really liked it until they started talking about trying to get the grocery store. The pastor told the congregation one Sunday that God may lay it on their heart to take out a loan to donate to the church for the new building. I've always hoped I took what he said wrong. But we never went back.
That was uncalled for having someone watch how you spend it. It was a gift and you have to answer for how you spend the money. I'm sure after the fire you really needed the help but it would have been really hard for me not to give the card back and tell him to shove it.
"The pastor told the congregation one Sunday that God may lay it on their heart to take out a loan to donate to the church for the new building. I've always hoped I took what he said wrong. But we never went back" No Mom24, you heard it right. Pastor has on numerous occassions encouraged people to take out loans, use college or retirement funds for building fund of church. One reason we do not go there any longer either.
It is a growing Baptist Church. James Tilton is their pastor. He moved here to start this new church. Although affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, it is not your typical conservation Baptist Church. I have heard some very good reports about the church and they are a success story. We voted there during the early voting for the general election. While in line to vote someone asked what was their denomination? A lady behind me advised she was a member and it was a non-denomination church. So evidently they do not push their Southern Baptist affiliation. Kinda like C3. However I found Southern Baptist literature in the lobby as I was leaving. http://www.claytoncrossings.com/staff.html
No, not me! You know I'm happy where I am. I was asking for someone who doesn't post on here, and she didn't want to get registered right now.
Hi, I was wondering if anyone else had any input/experiences with the Church @ Clayton Crossings they would like to share? My husband and I visited, and we liked the service overall, but I am a bit apprehensive about going back after reading some of the posts on this board. We'd really like to find a church that is contemporary, offers small groups and has a great kids program, but we haven't had any luck finding a good fit in the Clayton area (and yes, we've tried C3). Thanks.
My family were members for over 2 years, volunteered with Youth Sunday School and belonged to more than one small group with C@CC. The Worship Service and Music Minister is among the best. I used to not like contemporary christian music, but I found that it was something I could really worship with. Awesome worship service The small group we were in was absolutely awesome too. The people we studied with were genuine christians and really loved the Lord. The whole group was so helpful when we had our first child. I don't know how we would have done it without them. But I can't speak for every small group. I am still friends with people that go there now, but we have changed to a smaller church. Overall it's a great church, but if you really want to mature as a christian, you will need to join a small group and maybe a Bible study(or study on your own). It is very "seeker friendly", but there is really only One Seeker. I hope this helps. PS We go to Grace Fellowship Church(at Anna's Place) now, we would love to have you come and visit.
We attend Greater Heights UMC. Services are held at 11ish at The Clayton Center on Sundays. It's a very contemporary service and the pastor is amazing. His messages are upbeat, and even my teen can relate to what he is saying. No gloom and doom or making us feel full of guilt. Everyone is very down to earth and friendly there. They have a youth group and other bible studies that are starting up, and a women's group as well.
