I have to bite the bullet and do something I should have done long ago. :?What is the number you call for reporting animal neglect? I've been on the JC website and it has one, but it really doesn't say what number to call for what, just the number for the shelter.

    Thanks!

I just looked online and in the phone book and JoCo "Animal Services" is

    934-8474
    fax# 934-0753

I've called before about dogs running loose in my neighborhood and had to leave a message. I don't think you actually get anyone there unless its first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon.

We actually got a JoCo Sheriff to come out one time when a local loose dog killed one of my neighbors cats. Maybe due to the heat warnings and all today, if this is a dog outside with no shade and shelter, you could get a sheriff to come out and remove the dog?

Well, that's the number I found too. Appreciated though! I don't want to get into details online. :? Wish it was just a loose dog.

Thanks for being concerned enough to speak for those who can't! Hope everything works out.

It won't for the dog. People suck. But thank you for the kind words.

This is assuming the dog is in johnston County? I am the aco for CLayton and I have had lots of calls like this today. 2;30 and just getting my lunch! I will probably work late tonight, just because there are soo many calls like this coming in. Also in an emergency (life or death) situation in which time is of the essence...you can always call 911! Hope this helps!
