Does anyone know of public parks or the like that are open at night without much light pollution? I want to check out the Perseids tonight, but too much light at my house. Thanks!! 8)
Depending on the vehicle you have, and whether or not the construction workers have put the erosion barrier back up, and your feelings about trespassing on vacant land... just off of B.H. Parrish (right before West Watson) theres a subdivision that never got finished. If you've got an SUV it might be a good place to check out stars.
If the rain stops and the skies clear, I think I might lie on the hammock with my DD tonight and search the skies....
Cute, but I really would like a few options... I actually have a mortgage and I want to take the kids. opcorn: Where else guys?
In the past I have gone to a grave yard to watch them (this is typically illegal also). We have a nice telescope and the wife used to do a lot of star grazing then we had a former spook move in a couple houses away and he lit up his yard like a prison. Telescope isn't worth a damn now.
