It only makes perfect sense that once I decided to finally do some indoor and outdoor painting projects around here my husband decided to say, "honey, money for that sort of thing is a little tight right now...perhaps soon?" Ugh!!!

So, since I was just planning to paint and repaint certain things, I figured I would ask around here to see if anyone had any old paint, interior or exterior that they would donate to a wife that simply cannot calm the decorator bug???

I really hope there is someone out there to help...and it doesn't matter the color either...I have always been quite adaptable! LOL!

    Thanks!!

Three suggestions if you can't "adopt" all of the paint you need:

    1. Check the "mis-tint" shelf at local paint stores and home improvement stores...since color doesn't matter, usually a gallon or five gallon bucket of paint will be marked up to 75% off the retail. (My last mis-tint purchase cost me just $5 for a gallon of a superior quality paint).

    2. Check with local Habitat ReStore Centers (The one in Raleigh has a whole aisle dedicated for paint sales).

    3. When after painting several rooms with different adopted or purchased paints you do not have enough of any one paint to cover walls in your next room, mix all leftovers together and create your "own color"...The leftovers do not have to be the same name brand BUT it is best if the paints are "neutral" colors and they MUST be the same "type" and "finish" (type=latex, oil base, etc./ finish=flat, eggshell, semigloss, etc).

That Habitat Retore Center is great, a lot of painters go there and get their paint. It's good for other things such as moulding, wallpaper, fixtures and even plants for landscaping... I have a new home but go there and get things to decorate with. I got a new Chandelier for only $25 it's beautiful.
    Have fun...... Bye!!
