With the standards today? Definitely NOT! I think those are a perfect length for that "age.." and I'm being delicate saying that.
Oh yeah... I've seen the hoochie mama shorts they sell in the preteen section at walmart... I was just wonderin' about the people concerned Michelle Obama dressing habits. ...guess they think she be best dressed covered from head to toe. ...
definitely now short shorts, some of the shorts i wore back in the day were close to not being shorts at all, didn't cover much but hey it was in the 80s and that is what everyone wore:lol:
I say they need to leave her alone. At 90 some degrees, I see nothing wrong with her wearing shorts. Geez....Give the lady a break. She is only 45, and where is it written that she has to be "glamours" all the time. Heck, she is a mother of 2 young girls. Not everyone is Jackie O and to be honest, it is a little refreshing seeing her look more "normal" and way over done. Guess if she went swimming, she would have to wear one of those old time swimsuits. Think there is more important things to report than what she is wearing.
The media people complaining about the length of her shorts must be related to those school officials in JoCo that set the length of shorts for the school kids here, where it easily hits 90+ degrees and the buses don't have air conditioning. What is UP with the only bermuda shorts are appropriate thing? I understand not wanting the REALLY short shorts banned, the ones that barely (don't?) cover butt cheeks that teen girls seem to love, but is it really necessary to make the little elementary schoolers wear pants down to their little knees in the heat? Really?
OMG I have on shorts shorter than that right now! :nopity:The over zealous press busy bodies need to get a life!
One thing I consider a shame is women who are in good shape being reluctant to wear shorts that are above the knee. You don't have to have them half way up the thigh. Too many women retreat to capris too early in life. Sure, shorts are not always the best choice, but if you've got the legs, show them off is my philosophy especially when casual dress is okay. Save the capri pants dependency for your late fifties or sixties.
I'm 33 and I wear capris a lot!! I used to wear shorts all the time in my twenties. Now, eventhough I'm not overweight, I just don't like showing as much skin. Capris have only just come back in style in the last decade. Before that it was either shorts or long pants. Oh, or those horrible coulats (don't know how that's spelled). I think everyone has their own "comfort zone" when it comes to clothes. I think Michelle Obama looks great in shorts. I wish I did have long legs! I also wish there was a surgery where you could inject fat from your butt to your boobs, but that's just wishful thinking.
guess i am in trouble, i still wear shorts and probably will until i am dead, if folks don't like to see my chubby legs they do not have to look:lol::lol:
crazymom2girls...I didn't mean to imply that a person should live outside their comfort zone, but rather break out of it once in awhile. Now, I'm not talking about throwing modesty out the door and wearing something totally unbecoming out in public. I wouldn't want my wife wearing any skimpy clothes (she wouldn't) out and about, but I want her to feel self-confident and see that she is still attractive. I don't mind her getting a few looks here and there. I know that they make her feel better about herself.
