We went to the Clayton Hwy 70 Walmart tonight and the woman who helped us back in the electronics dept said it had been VERY dead all day! Actually it was nice to be in there and it was so quiet... DH found the laptop he was looking for, they had 1 left of the Toshibas that were on sale.
DVD movie rentals for $1, they have them at the Lowes Foods and Walgreens in Clayton. Its really just a big red box with a touch screen, find the movie you want, schwing your credit or debit card and it spits out your movie, $1/night.
 No, I went to the Wal-MartS on 70 today about 2, I forgot about the 4042 one being open today. I got ticked and told them I'd NEVER return because of a (one) q-pon discrepancy. I'll go to Lowes Foods from now on, I learned my lesson.
The McDonalds is to small and lacks much seating. You have to go to the counter for drink refills ...which is a pain when there is a long line.
Why would anyone (not you) go to the McDonalds IN Wal MartS when they could go .5 miles down the road AND it has a playgym for the kidlets?
I don't know. I'm just being argumentative.:lol: Just don't let them wear heelys (sp) OR push a grocery cart near me while I'm in the same store. Thank you!
One significant thing I noticed (significant to me) when I went this morning is the fact that there were staff standing outside the front door smoking as people are coming in. I CAN'T STAND THAT! Other than that turn off, I thought it was a very nice store. I hope it continues to be clean and neat b/c it is so convenient for me!
I would rather them be outside smoking instead of the building I'm getting ready to occupy for any length of time..... BUT! I can see your point. Maybe a smoking / picnic area on the side of the building or the back where it's not readily visible to the customers.
We went twice yesterday ... but we must have missed most of the freebies. The 1st time we went the Kellog's facepainting tent was set up. That tent did have cookies & a Tony the Tiger toy. Inside there were cookies & balloons. I really enjoyed visiting the store. I believe 1/2 my neighborhood must have passed through the store & many of the folks from school. It seemed like there was someone we knew on almost every aisle. The kids had lunch at McDonalds yesterday & dinner from the Deli. I love the idea of having somewhere close I can pick ip printer ink when it runs out.
They do that in the Clayton store too, smoke in the front. It is disgusting to see. Not only that some of them look nasty and use foul language. They need to take a little pride in themselves.
I don't like to see them puffing away either, right in front of the store. Sorry if that offends anyone, but I don't like it. They should provide them with a smoking area out back or something. One or two is one thing, but they tend to congregate and yes, I've heard some "iffy" language in front of my child before. Everyone IS entitled to a break, but they are still on store property and in the public eye.
I'm just wondering where all of you folks that hate Walmart go to shop? I love Walmart because it saves me LOTS of money on groceries.
