I had an older lady just about do the same thing to me (but she was in a small car) we were both in turning lanes...and as we're turning, she just comes right over into my lane. Then after I slam on brakes...she looks at me like it was my fault :?

This beautiful little girl, Ashley, lived in my zone. I am in and around her neighborhood quite often, so I'm sure I've seen her and her friends walking home from school or playing around the apartments.

I went by and got a chance to speak to her mother and pay my respects.

We talked for minute and she let me give her a hug. The lump in my throat still sits kind of high.

Dad was away for the moment.

They have a small memorial with a beautiful picture of Ashley with a candle burning just outside their doorway.

Ashley's mother said she and her family were relying on God's mercy and grace to see them through the grieving process and healing.

Job never did find out until he got to Heaven why God allowed the things to happen to him. The same may have to be said about this event.

    bus drivers training-

who can i contact in johnston county about the bus drivers training ? I asked my grandkids if their bus driver motions for them to cross when its ok - they told me no- i want to make sure we don't have a tradgedy BEFORE action, as is so often the case. I realize bus drivers here are mostly asst teachers or cafe workers (?) not actually wanting a job as driver in the first place so how much training do they receive?? maybe the buses are geared slower but i am concerned about the dropping and loading aspect - remember the child at the end of last year that was dragged by her bus because her book bag was caught?? it is time to bring our busing department up to speed- our roads are not like 50 years ago. and we aslo have a large minority population riding our buses. we need to make sure they understand the rules in their language.(this is not an open invite to debate the minority aspect) they are all children and the little girl that died sadly paid a big price for the schools and drivers to WAKE UP!

This is specifically why I had a fit last year when DS's busdriver took it upon HERSELF to change the bus route so that he had to cross the road. Some of ya'll have been to my house, you KNOW how dangerous it is with people flying around that curve. That lasted a day.

I started with the school.............................apparently the driver was not authorized to make the change, she just thought it would work better. There were some behavoiral issues and she was trying to get them off the bus first and kind of reversed the route (not my kid). I'd rather deal with behavoir issues than a kid hit or killed by a car.
