If you had the time and money, what business would you start?

I've been thinking the DR Wells Annex would make a great location for a tutoring center. I don't have the time or $ to make that happen but maybe someone else does.

I had a goal about 5 years ago to open up a exotic Parrot store, not so much to sell the birds, but the supplies ect..BIG selection of food, toys ect. I used to work in one up in MI, and there was nothing eles like it anywhere I have seen. Everything you could think of was in that store. It was always slamming busy..I would also ad education on handling and caring for them as well.
    It was a dream....

Lot of work, though. Ups and downs. Besides, time and money...you have to factor in patience and nerves of steel, especially if you have a lot riding on it.

Jester - Can't we just dream? There are many benefits to being self employed, too. :)

Sure. The problem is being self-employed, you're really always on the clock because the responsibilities are waiting for you. It also requires self-discipline and sacrifice at times. But, yeah. I can agree that there are benefits. It's a two-way street. Also it would depend on the type of business.

:iagree: I would love to start a tutoring business and yes, that would be a great location. I have 15+ years teaching and tutoring experience, but that being said, I have no funds to get started! Maybe a small business grant for the initial start-up?? Anyone have experience with getting one of those grants??

    Used book store

I wanted to start a used book store over by 40/42 but my credit is shot and i was out of work for a while. If I had the money I would still start one.

I would build another Clayton Fitness right next to the Cleveland Fire House. FFL does not have everything Clayton Fitness has. Waste too much gas going all the way out to Clatyon everyday to work out.

No, not really. You have leases/mortgages, contracts, suppliers, tax liabilities, and the like. Unless it is a cash business (and even then sometimes) cash flow means you will need a line of credit to smooth that out.

In any case I was pointing out one of the joys of business.

I would open a house of prostitution. I KNOW it would be a huge hit in this area. I betcha I could make a ton of money just off a few members on here...lol. I would have the ladies dressed in lingerie sitting in the front windows. They would put their red light on if available for business. I can just imagine how many threads my new business would start. Ladies I wouldn't forget you either, I would have several volunteers out back for you.

From what I hear even in economic down turns the 'worlds oldest profession' still makes money. I guess even people who have lost everything still needs a little bit of personal company :)

I'd open a shelter for CEO's and Corporate Executives that are down on their luck right now.

I think the annex would make a great location for a country diner.
