Because I have this fear of my son choking on something and nobody knowing what to do. That's legit (if not a little paranoid), right?
never thought about it, I know the daycare my son goes to all the teachers are but not sure about public school I will ask some friends that are teachers and let you know!
They are not required to be certified. The teachers assistants should be certified, at least in Johnston county. They pay for us all to take the class.
I wonder why the teachers aren't required. It doesn't seem like a big deal to take the class and know what to do in an emergency. And if they pay for the TA's they should pay for the teachers. :?
If teachers are not certified I think they should care enough to get the certification themselves if the school doesn't require it. I'd hope all teachers had lots of medical knowledge now with allergies, type I diabetes, etc.
