I would advise not going to TAG. I took all my business there and directed a lot of people to take there needs there as well. But will never take another thing to them. I had to have some work on my car in which TAG charged me close to $500 for the work they performed which did not fix the problem and then said that it would be close to $4000 to fix it all. Which then I took my vehicle to another business and they said that they would have charged $150 to do what TAG did for $500 and they only charged me $2100 to fix what TAG said would cost $4000. So i am trying to help others not get ripped off by TAG
Who is the guy that was mentioned on here awhile back that has a shop in his backyard? I remember several members saying that he was a straight shooter and trustworthy. I've got some AC work for somebody and need an honest opinion and I'm thinking that the dealership will be considerably more expensive.
MERCHANT'S tire and auto charged me $1500 to repair my car, I later found out all it needed was a tune up... I will call BRIAN'S AUTOMOTIVE... They really take advantage of women.....Live and learn!!!
I am sorry that you had such a bad experience at Tag. We love Bobby! He's been fantastic to us, and we take all our business to him. He's gone above and beyond the call of duty with my 96 Toyota that no one else seems to know how to fix, and has done things for us and not charged us, when others would have charged for the same service. At one time, he had a staff person who was not very nice to me, and spoke to me in a very deragatory manner. When I brought it up to Bobby, he apologized profusely and addressed it with the employee and made him apologize to me as well. He is no longer employed there as far as I know. Again, I hate you had a bad experience, but I send everyone there, he's been great to us.
I just went to TAG last week for the first time, based on a lot of comments that I'd seen here (thanks everybody!). I was surprised that an oil change cost me $30 ($27.99 plus supplies & tax), but when you factor in every fourth one is free (i.e. paid for during the first three), that's not too bad, IMO. Heck, I was paying close to $30 back up north, without getting one free. I was in and out quickly, and they're the first ones I've gone to that knew how to shut off the reminder light.
I'm sorry for the bad experience you had at TAG Automotive, but in looking through our records I need more informtion in order to find it. If you would have come in and talk to me in person I'm sure you would not have had to go anywhere else. In this economy we understand that people are struggling and we are trying to accomodate everyone to the best of our ability. Please call me and refresh my memory so I can rectify this situation, after all money is not everything and we aim to please all our customers. 550-3348. Thanks Bobby P.S. Our policy is, If you were not happy with the car repairs and had a legitimate gripe, we would have made sure you were satisfied or we would have refunded your money.
How did he know there was a customer complaining on here? Someone tip him off or does he just regularly cruise the board during business hours? 8)
Bobby has been great to us as well. I believe he does check in pretty regular. Sorry you had a bad experience, seems pretty rare from my own experience and so many others.
Yes we check in regularly...we want to make sure we are keeping our 4042'ers happy. Thanks for all the great praises - we aim to please!
I agree with Jen...and I know the employee she is referring to...and yes he is gone. I think he turned off quite a few people, just my opinion though... I have never had anything but nice things to say about these guys. I have seen Bobby interact with customers and he truly does work with people in every way possible to keep them coming back and keep them satisfied. I am very sorry you had such a bad experience with them...Good Luck though...I know all about being treated unfair as a woman...I am a mechanic myself, have been for 17 years and I STILL get treated like I have no idea what I am talking about...
I was wondering, Bobby. For something like A/C problems, do you charge a set diagnostic fee or can you basically give a free estimate? Basically, I think my problem is the compressor clutch is trying to seize up and the A/C doesn't make cool air when sitting still. Any suggestions?
Bobby, that was very nice how you responded but I still cannot see paying $80 to be told nothing except whatever is keeping the engine light on is probably more expensive than the vehicle when all i wanted was to get an estimate on what the problem was to determine if it was worth fixing - hopefully the head mechanic as he said he was is the one that is no longer there.
Hey Jester - I could give you some better suggestions after having a little more info, what type of car it is etc....Feel free to call me 550-3348 - I'd be happy to help in any way I can. Kaci - I'm also sorry you did not receive the information/estimate you needed on your vehicle..As I had stated to the OP, if you were not satisified with something that was done to your car - the only way I could rectify it is to know about it and hear your thoughts complaints...I'm pretty easy going on the whole and for those who have stated here before, customer satisfication is my goal... Thanks for listening everyone.... Bobby
There is NOBODY I let work on my cars except Bobby and the guys @ TAG. They've even offered to come to my house to figure out an intermittent problem on a "back-up vehicle". Always fair on the prices, and top notch work. I've never had a problem, but I am sure they'd do anything and everything possible to straighten it out if I did.
It sounds like a situation with any business. Some people will have a bad experience and others will love it so you really just have to try it out yourself and see how it goes. I hated that new restaurant on 42 and cleveland school and won't go back, but some people like it so everyone should try it once and see how it goes.
