Used to have them all the time when I lived up North. That was like 13 yrs ago. It was good to me, and the price was good back in those days for me. No idea when it will open we got some coupons in the mail a few weeks ago that said July, well that has passed, and drove past the other night on my way to Lowes it looked like a few more weeks at least.
Where are they opening???? We buy from the one in Garner nearly weekly. Can't beat $5.55 for a large cheese that we can usually walk in the door and pick up without ordering ahead of time and a wait. I prefer Papa Johns but like Little Caesars over Dominos or Pizza Hut.
Next to.. Jersey Mike's? on 70 )shopping center where Lowe's Foods is). What ever is there on the corner, in the new buildings across from CVS. LOL... my directions suck at best. I can't even give directions to my own home with out giving a wrong turn.
Mmmm! The commercial for that looks good but we haven't tried it yet. DH prefers Red Baron. :ack: .. well... it's ok but I prefer Papa John's. I don't have to worry about cooking again this week. I think this is the third week in a row DH has grilled up a mess of food so I won't have to cook all week. This week it'll be left overs of chicken hamburgers and hot dogs. I love my DH  Luckily DS1 doesn't mind having green beans instead of french fries. :hurray: He's a veggie boy. DS2 is a different story. :banghead:
None that I have found yet in NC. When I take trips back up North, one thing that always on the must do list is go get some local pizza. :hurray:
Depends on what style of pizza you are looking for. Chain it has to be Papa John's hands down. Local NY style it's either gonna be Venero's or Primavera Pizza with my personal nod towards Pimavera due to their crust. For a Chicago type pizza it has to be Pizzaria Uno up in Briar Creek. Then there is always Frank's which has a long history in the Raleigh area. Craig
LOL... I was just using the spoon I was carrying to do some stirring... :jester: big surprise there....
Everytime I think of Little Ceasar's, I think of a prank I saw back in my high school. A guy had dressed up in a sheet (like a toga) and put some branches in his hair like the little cartoon ceasars guy. He hid around the corner from the little ceasar's on Litchford and when somebody came out he ran up and snatched his pizzas and took off yelling "Pizza! Pizza!". Everybody was so stunned, that nobody even chased him. Funny stuff.
Who has the best pizza is about like asking who has the best barbecue. You'll never get a solid answer and actually, different barbecues taste different and can have good points and low points. Pizza is about the same way for me. My favorites...for NY style pizza, Brooklyn Pizza in Goldsboro on Spence Avenue. Huge slices, very fresh "tomatoey" sauce, great tasting cheese. Love it. Their pizza crust is thin, however so almost have to pick the slice up and fold it to keep it from flopping. Its a simple place in the shopping center with Wal-Mart, however they know pizza. They used to have a place in Smithfield, but for some reason it didn't last or wasn't appreciated like the Goldsboro folks like it. Another pizza place that I used to eat at all the time was Andy's Pizza at Quail Corners in Raleigh. It wasn't NY style, but very tasty and unique in flavor. Plus, they had great breadsticks and spaghetti. The owner, Andy Kanas, was a Greek orphan immigrant who grew up in Raleigh. He knew how to run a pizza joint for sure. He passed away several years ago unexpectedly. His family took over, but seemed to have a run of bad luck for awhile with a fire at the restaurant that forced a rebuild and then a fire that occured in the drug store that ajoined around the corner. His widow eventually had a stroke and, under a lot of pressure, I think the family decided to just sell the business. Good folks, though. We've eat there one time since under new ownership. It was just about as good as before, but not like the days when Andy was in the kitchen.
Ummm, you're probably right. But then again, they don't offer it on the menu either! Maybe they'd be interested in your recipe??? Only kidding of course! I can't get them to serve spiedies even though I KNOW they'd be a hit!
