First off, I am not a perfect driver.................I try hard to obey basic traffic laws though.

Last night I am coming from Clayton towards 4042 on Hwy 42. First, some young, dumb blond in an Expedition (moss green if any of you know her) used the LEFT TURN ONLY lane as her personal passing lane to zoom around those of us waiting at the light at the bypass intersection. Accident waiting to happen if someone hadn't been paying attention. Entitled much?

Next up, a sport bike comes flying out of the gas station at the corner of Cornwallis and 42 like his tail was on fire. I mean he is wailing on that motorcycle, pulled out in front of a line of traffic from both directions. Then a car turns left at the light in front of him, who I am sure didn't have time to see him coming. I hope he had to clean his britches for being such a moron. It was so close I actually held my breath and expected him to come flying across the hood of the car in front of me. Oh, and he had no tags either.

WTH are these folks thinking? Or not??

    duh

they are not thinking. They are probably related to the drivers who love to pull in front of you when you are going the speed limit causing you to slam on breaks to keep from plowing into the back of them and then they turn in less than a mile. Seriously, I try to tell myself maybe they are having personal issues that cause them to be distracted.

I saw a guy on Hammond Rd. last night STANDING UP on a moped while driving and he had no shoes on whatsoever. Can't fix it . . .

Oh and then this morning on my way to work I saw a van that had duct taped their license plate on.

Then hubby comes home and tells me that he had a lady pull up beside of him in his big work truck and show him her underwear!

    It's crazy out there folks!

My son and I were waiting at a red light to turn into White Oak The woman in front of us was creeping up, creeping up, then next thing I know, there she goes through the red light! Left on red!
After that, there was a car driving toward us on 70...dude was on the wrong side of the road! We thought perhaps it was 'National Drive Like A Moron Night'!

We saw a girl driving down 40 doing that! She was going slow, holding up traffic, everyone was having to pass her. I guess she figured it was ok to text and drive as long as she slowed down!:x

And those that do need to know our big trucks DO NOT stop on a dime!
I already feel bad for the idiot I know I'm gonna accidentally cream one day. I'm sure it'll be bad.

Last night, I was on 40 and there were three sport bikers with two in the left lane and one in the right. They apparently felt empowered by holding up faster traffic by riding three abreast, speeding up on a whim. I've seen them also slow down in the right lane, forcing motorists to attempt a pass only for them to blow past them. Its a game to some of them.

Some of the cruiser bikers can be annoying, too. I was passing a car one day on 70 Business coming back from downtown Smithfield driving my truck. I had two harley guys riding my bumper. I had just made the pass of the car and was trying to move over to let them by when one of them thought it would be cute to blow past me in the right lane. Trouble is I didn't see him initially. He came within a gnat's *** of taking a ride through the ditch for his lamebrain stunt. Luckily, I saw him before I was completely in the right lane.

Let me say now, that I happen to like bikes. I don't have one yet, but would like to get one. What I was saying was about a small minority of jerks that just happen to be on two wheels instead of four.

I saw a young lady text messaging while driving yesterday on 70E just west of Clayton. Isn't that illegal now? We have to watch out for other drivers and not to mention insurance frauds who intentionally try to cause accidents.

It's Friday and I'm driving from RTP to Clayton, so I'm sure I'll see something today as well. whew.

I get that texting is fun for some people, and thats fine, but do people really have to text someone while driving when they can just as easily CALL them!!
I saw this stupid lady driving a DAYCARE BUS FULL OF KIDS while texting the other day...I was disgusted...
    PUT DOWN THE DANG PHONE!!!!

In just a quick glance, is it possible to mistake simply dialing a number with texting? It would seem to me to be one of those things you'd have to observe for more than few seconds. Most of my numbers I call are on voice activation so I don't have to dial. Other numbers I can just say "digital dial" and speak the numbers for dialing. I'm sure mostly everyone's phones have this feature nowadays.

    Hey Jester,
I thought the same thing at first, maybe she was just dialing...but nope this was full on texting...
my Dh was driving so I got to stare for a minute or so...
she kept one hand on the wheel and the other was just texting away....

I did not call the daycare, but I am very tempted to...I do believe that this place should know that their employee is endangering the lives of children.

You really should call the daycare, they need to know. If she has an accident because of driving while texting, it may be too late.

Yeah, I'd call, too. I would be livid if I knew my child was being driven around by somebody texting.
