Sandhu's/DRWells Cleveland Emporium

So I guess DR Wells Cleveland Emporium has been sold to Sandhu's, because it is now Sandhu's Cleveland Emporuim. And I guess that is why they cannot do lottery sales until the middle of Sept. because Sandhu's has to apply for a permit to sell lottery there. So sad that the history of the area is changing. It just doesn't seem to feel like Cleveland Community anymore when the locals that made it up, are selling everything and moving out.

 

Oh, please tell me they are still going to have the meat dept. I drive all the way from Archer Lodge once a month or so to stock up. :?

 

I can't imagine that it would be anywhere near the same.

 

I can not believe the Well's sold out! But like a lot of Clevelander's "OLD ONES" see $$ and sell out. It's so sad

 

Or did they do what they intended on doing and plan to enjoy the fruits of their labor? Why would you deny them that?

The customers of Sandhu's should make sure they tell the new proprietors why they shopped there and what they expect if they wish to keep their business.

As far as the legendary eye-candy I heard about (didn't trip my trigger) I think folks will just have to get over it.

New ownership for Cleveland Emporium? That means we will finally be welcome in the store, without being asked "why'd y'all have to move down here" every time we go in...

 

I'm not saying it's a bad thing... Just thought David would have wanted to pass the store down to his Son's like his daddy did to him.

There will be a Subway in there within 6 months.

 

The eye candy will still be there... I only go every other day or so tho Hopefully they will keep the hardware part open.

 

sandhus don't own the building... I believe they purchased all contents in store and is leasing building... thats what I heard.

David and his family are moving out to Wyoming.

DR still owns the building and the land it sits on.

 

This is simply not the case. Just because they are public figures in the community does not give one a right to gossip about them on a public message board.

 

No one is gossip'n. I'm just stating my opinion. I'm talking about how Cleveland has changed since I was young. That's it's sad that all the farm land that used to be around here is gone.

 

No one is gossiping about them on the public message board. People are just concerned. The Wells' are very well liked people, they are a great family and people are just curious about their well being. I think that is a great learning experience also for all those kids to move to another state and learn their culture. I'm sure they are all excited, it is a different adventure for them and we just wish them all well. And keep the meat counter stocked and I love the My Family brand foods that they stock.

 

Maybe Sandhu's will decide to carry Pepsi products there? <eg>

 

That was good then that it was not sold but only leased. Then if things don't work out out West, then they always have the store to fall back on. They are also very smart people and I wish them lots of fun out there and to follow their dreams. You don't know if you don't try, right!
