State needs a QB that isn't scared to throw and has an arm to throw, and they need to learn to wrap up using their arms when trying to tackle.....They lost and desirved to lose tonight due to their play....Stupid play....stupid crap. And this from a State fan. Craig
QB?????? How bout wideouts that can catch the rock... killer... but also very rough with the penalties... be smarter than that
Receivers need to go up for the ball and catch the freaking thing. I don't know why anyone thought they would catch it this year, they couldn't catch last year either. If you have a six inch advantage on your defender, you darn well better make a play for the ball. It wouldn't hurt to throw to the tight ends occasionally.
It was a SAD night for us PACK fans. The score did not at all reflect how poorly we played. But I am a LOYAL NCSU Fan!
Wilson has talent, but not seeing why they pin hopes on a 5'11" QB with competing priorities (baseball) who will probably leave early (baseball) because he probably doesn't have a good prospect for NFL play.
That was part of my thoughts when I made my post, the other is that Wilson has for lack of a better term "tunnel vison" when it comes to passing, he calls a pass play and looks only for the receiver that he originally intends to throw to, then he hesitates 2-3 times...not pump fakes....hesitates, doesn't throw the ball due to coverage, tries to scramble which he doesn't do really well and ends up being sacked for a loss instead of scanning the field or atleast throwing the ball away to avoid the sack. Craig
I never said being QB was easy so don't know where that comment came from, as for Wilson, he may be our best choice at the moment for QB, but in all honesty he sucks as a QB. To be a QB you have to think fast and react even faster to changes and he just plain doesn't. At least in baseball the only time he has to react fast would be when thinking about trying to steal a base. Craig
If they leave Wilson as the starter we are doomed to another year of mediocrity. As stated above, he has tunnel vision. Watching how slow he is moving out of the pocket all I could think about was old lead foot Phillip Rivers. He couldn't move very well either but he had a great arm on a 6'5" frame. I saw Glennon throw one pass Thurs night. He dropped back 3 and threw a lightning bolt over the middle that nobody could catch. Not good, but he looks like a pro quarterback. I don't understand the allure of Wilson. Even his baseball coach was telling Obrien how much he needed him back after he only hit .236!!
peoples it don't matter who you have QBing for ya... who's gonna catch the ball?? not your butter fingers for receivers.. put the blame where it belongs... game one receivers... make the catch game over.
somewhat true in the fact that if the receiver catches the ball he had a touchdown.....but that doesn't make up for non-passes that Wilson with his tunnelvision didn't throw and ended up loosing yardage on due to his inability to adapt to the defense's coverage when at worst he should have thrown the ball away for a loss of down instead of loss of down and loss of yardage. At least with Rivers we had a QB that was tall enough to see over the line and he didn't have tunnel vision which is why he's in the NFL now where Wilson will never be....atleast as a QB.
