Some of their produce is really bad quality, bought some raspberries today to make jam with and each and everyone of the packages was rotten and that at nearly $3.50 each. The peaches are mealy and the asparagus completely limp.
Did you discuss it with them? Which store? I can't imagine the one in Clayton wouldn't have refunded you. They are overall the best around in my opinion.
If it was the one at 42 and 50, you should have asked to speak with a manager. I'm sure it would have been corrected! I have found they are awesome and often times if they find out about any type of deficiency, they do all they can to correct it.
I bought some bad steaks at the one in Clayton once. They were more than happy to replace them. It's been a while but I think they refunded the money and replaced my meat.
I picked up a container of Tyson chicken a few months back and it looked fine, but it was quite obvious when I opened the package at home it was not fine! Bad smell and overly slimy chicken:ack: Hubby took it back up there to return it and the manager profusely apologized, gave him a refund in cash and told him to go pick out whatever he needed to replace the chicken. Hubby went to the meat case this time and picked out 8 fresh chicken breasts and took it back to the customer service counter where the manager promptly rang him up with NO CHARGE. Hubby tried to argue with him to pay for the new chicken(it was quite a bit more expensive) and the manager explained they have a 200% guarantee, meaning they refund you your money and pay for whatever your replacement is. I was stunned and am even happier to shop at Lowes Foods now. Hubby had it happen also one time when he tried one of their brands instead of name brand but didn't like it. Refunded his money and bought the replacement for him. You should definitely bring it to their attention if you are unsatisfied. I shop at the 42/50 location...
Take the bad product back for a Refund Take the bad product back for a Refund: If I buy something that is bad or I am Not Satisfied with, I take it back. If you make a big-enough stink, they will refund your purchase price. I used to work at a grocery store in Florida, and you would be surprised what people bring back. I am not ashamed to take anything back.
Take them back, if they don't refund and/or replace them. Contact corporate and file a complaint.... I had that happen many times with strawberries... BYE!
Maybe i missed it, but which store was it? I happen to know people who work at the Clayton location and will pass this along to them if it was that store.
I called once I got back home, they offered to refund my money but since it would take me about 1 hour to drive there and back again I declined the offer. My point is - that it would be better if it didn't happen in the first place!! With the peaches it was very dissapointing too, like I said completely mealy and dry with a Product of California Sticker on them, and that during peach season in NC:?
My husband said that from now on maybe I should buy one for example peach first, try itand then decide :? Do produce managers actually ever sample some of their produce?
Maybe you'd be ashamed to return the following: A very good friend told me that she was standing in line at Walmart's customer service one day and a lady ahead of her was returning a cucumber and a loaf of bread. I think the bread was a bit smashed but as for the cucumber, she said, "It didn't do what she wanted it to." :ack: I leave it to you to guess what that might have been. lol. Needless to say, the employees put on gloves to throw the 2 items away but yes, they DID accept the returns. LOL
